I'll take my little issues with Cabin over Prometheus' for sure.

In Joss I trust.

Finally saw it yesterday I think there was too much hype for it to live up to. Overall pretty decent flick, leaves you wanting a 2nd one for sure. Lot's of stuff can still happen.

Fans on imdb are comparing Prometheus to 2001 a space odyssey. Makes my head hurt.

Say the movie last night. If your just a person who watches movies for the fun of it there's great visualizations in the film. If your a die hard movie geek who knows what this movie is based upon than your going to find this movie lacking. Definitely more hype than bite.

Oh yea.. Magneto DOES steal the show!

Finally saw it this afternoon. I'm glad I saw it in 3D or else I would've fell asleep. Visuals kept me awake. Movie moved slow but got moving along. Extracting the creature from her body was intense, other than that it was so-so. Those two guys that were killed by the worm-like creature whatever was dumb as hell. They were scared the whole time they were in there but got close and personal with that thing. I thought there was going to be a nude scene with Charlize somewhere. When she was talking to Idris and she said, "be in my room in 10 minutes". Thought that might've been it. I disappoint.

I really enjoyed the movie. Very fun to open your mind and consider our begings and be entertained by a good story. I hope there's a sequel.

he has an iteresting point but I agree the smug tone is so unnecessary

Just saw it. I really liked it. I haven't seen the other Alien movies, but this kept me entertained throughout the entire film. There was alot going on, but it didn't feel convoluted to me. David was played perfectly by Fassbender. There are a lot of little things that leave you thinking but there is still enough there to leave you satisfied about what was actually shown.

Couple things bothered me though.

Spoiler [+]
1. How were those two guys still in that cave when they left long before Noomi and the rest of the crew?
2. After Noomi smacked up those two crew members when she was pregnant, how come none of the crew reacted at all?
3. Why the hell didn't Charlize think about moving to the side when that ship was rolling through? Noomi fell and literally rolled like twice and she was out of the way. Small detail but it annoyed me.
4. I think they should have done a better job developing Charlize's character. Her character seemed almost pointless, and I don't see how her character would play a part in explaining the future films either.

Thought the movie was alright. Had me intrigued the first half but towards the end it got a little silly.

The character development bothered me the most in this movie. David seemed like the only character they went in depth with. The rest of the characters were forgettable imo.

i sawr it

yall see that kryptonite up on the altar? & the wall carving behind it; they showed that three times i think

Charlizs character was the worst!  It's not logical why she was so upset throughout the whole movie.  Why did she even come on the expedition in the first place?  She hated her father because he didn't want to die?? She wasn't interested in alien life forms at all??  Was she driven by money or something?? I'm assuming she was set for life money wise.

Also what the hell was the point of having her fathers character in the movie AT ALL? OMG he wasn't dead after all, he was sleeping, now lets have him try and talk to the alien....oh wait no, actually you're dead now bye bye. What was the point in having him be in disguise basically, heavily altered to looked very aged.  Guy Pierce is a pretty good actor, but come on

. For the entire movie I thought he was gonna become young or we would have a flashback of his young self, because he looked like Saito from Inception.  Why not just cast an actual old person??

Anyways enough of my rant.  I thought the movie was visually entertaining but the writing could have been better.  Anybody could think of far better ways to tie in the beginnings of the Aliens story imo

Really liked this movie! Made me buy the Alien Anthology...all the Alien movies are dopeee..except Alien 3. That movie was just ok at best.

Is this worth watching in 3D for those that saw it?

I saw the non 3D version but after hearing it was actually filmed using 3D cameras and not converted post production, I regretted not watching it in 3D.

Definitely worth it. One of the best 3D I've seen... the IMAX didn't hurt either.

Horrible origin movie as in Prometheus is the origin movie to Aliens. As a die hard movie goer this movie AS AN ORIGIN could have been better. Most alien fans like myself are disappointed
