I think the biggest mistake of the game was Washington (or whoever's decision it was) to leave Oliver in.
Also, I think that 8th inning is EXACTLY what people mean when they talk about experience being a difference in a game/series.
I've heard people like Charles Barkley brush 'experience' to the side, saying things like 'Oh, it doesn't matter. They're all grown professionals. They know how to play their game.'
True, but I think a playoff experienced team handles that 8th inning way different. Flipping it, if the Yankees were up 5-1 in the 8th and the Rangers got a couple walks, I think they come out of the inning with a couple runs scored against them... TOPS.
Just an opinion, and obviously it can't be proven, but yeah... I think '2010 ALDS GM. 1, inning 8' is a perfect example of how lack of experience can cause a team to crumble.
