I'm shocked that they thought the cement one was appropriate for a 2014 Air Jordan release. There's nothing special, interesting, innovative, or unique about that design, and without hyperbole it truly looks like a team jordan from the late 90s, but tackier bc of the cement print.
Maybe this weave construction method really is groundbreaking, maybe the shoe feels amazing, but did they REALLY think a shoe w/ those straight red lines with the cement inside looked good?!?!? I think had they just released an all black version, no shapes, prints, or anything like last year, it could have been seen as trying to be sleek or minimalist, but throwing 3 awkwardly shaped cement print rectangles on that is embarrassing and confusing. I actually think Tinker's lost it at this point if he can hold this thing up and not laugh.
I wouldn't be shocked if there are a few colorways that other people will like (not me, i won't use these for ball and the midsole has too much shape for these to be casual) because the upper really could be a blank canvas to put whatever graphic design they want. I still just can't believe the only 2 things the design team at JB could come up w/ was 3 awkwardly placed cement rectangles and a 2003 polo-horse size orange jumpman. Makes me think that they just do not have talented designers there. Even when they failed with the 2009-xx8 the designs showed they were trying to do something that hadn't been done before (the heel, that stupid window, the fingerprint, the saddle construction, the high zip up). With the cement one, there's no possible way they can justify that they were doing something special.
