It’s for sure QC, my pair of corals had a blueish grey spot on the back; I swapped them for a different pair when I was buying ‘em.

I wore them extensively from 2015-2017. When I got 2017 Royal highs in 2017, I tended to wear those extensively and would only wear the lows occasionally.
