Oh god, Fender and especially Gibson are the worst.

Fender just straight up stopped producing $400-$500 Mexican Standard Strats & Teles and bumped up the prices of the (historically much cheaper) Squier line.

Yup, I was surprised at how expensive squires are now. It's also given a rise to smaller brands that make better guitars the Squires/Epiphones at a lower cost. Harley Benton in particular has some insane value for the price.
