^^^He said "I'm" so thats his opinion. How can that come off salty?

And I agree with him. I never spent more then 700 on a shoe, and both those times they were very old shoes. Some collectors enjoy the history. I cannot drop that much on a recent retro, but other can and kudos to them. At the end of the day we're all spending a lot of money on just sneakers. :lol

Lol yup I still remember. It's cool, I don't hold grudges. It was for p7 and your friend won a size 8 but he didn't want it. I had high hopes because you responded once saying you'll let me know :lol.

About to pull this trigger for 01 Breds for $600. Lowest I've seen in DS in the past month. Seen at least 3 DS pairs in my size sell for $700+ and I almost pulled the trigger each time. Was gonna save that money for Banneds but $600 for DS 01's got me rethinking[/quote]

Just Do It

You're turning into @Zyzz with all your hunt talk ;)

:lol i'm not that cheap. Trying my best to hold out for Banneds, but so much temptation from older breds.

haha seriously I think we ALL have issues spending a lot of money on sneakers!!

I guess the part where he said "not some new "almost half way decent but not really" quality crap" was what I referred to.

Either way, I wouldn't and didn't drop that much for the Fragments.  Thank god I was able to find someone with a legit pair who was down to trade! phew

Would people pay $315 for a pretty beat pair of Banned 1's size 11.5?  I passed on a pair on ebay the other day and it sold QUICK!

The real question is would you pay the same amount for a beat up OG or beat up RETRO (banned 1)?

Then why post in a Jordan thread?

1000

i meant to say "that much"

i just dont find it wise to spend $700+ on a pair of shoes. new kicks come out all the time. some people are big fans of a certain shoe and i understand the feeling when you strike out on RD, but most are just tryna ride the hype. either way, to each their own. you cant have them all...

True.

i think it depends on the buyer. OG's might mean more history or memories for some. Like another member said much earlier, the Banneds were not really a general release retro, you had to be at the right place at the right time because they only released in outlets. When I first saw the concept, i liked them a lot but heard it was a scrapped idea and never looked into it again. I only found out much later that they released in a special way. I wouldn't have paid what I would pay now. But as it gets rarer, my spending limit went a little higher. Not past 1.6k though. I'm just in a better financial place where I'm willing to spend that much on them.

would i love to own a pair of frags? yes. but not for anything north of 300 thats for sure but thats me and i would never drop 700+ on something that wouldnt be worn either because im a collector who wears his collection and if they crumble and no donor is even remotely available i toss them because its not worth having shoes to dream about but i digress, everyone has their own worth and value of certain shoes and i can appreciate that but i dont understand dropping mad money on a shoe that is new and made with subpar quality for an insane amount of money and we all know the 1s with NA have been better than recent quality but still nothing to brag about honestly but if your wallet is bigger than mine why would i care how others spend their money? i am a little salty that JB makes shoes that are unattainable and i think its driving customers away who were once loyal but now look for quality craftsmanship and a decent retail price and i dont blame them either, interesting to see how this shoe collecting goes in the next 5 years.

hopefully it drives kids to go to school, get better jobs, with the intent to have enough cash flow to buy all the kicks they want. maybe JB's plan was to improve the country's economy from the beginning :rollin

I guess i'm a little different when it comes to the frags. I really really like them and I have the money so I figured screw it and bought them. I absolutely love them and am happy with my purchase. To each his own though.

Longest sentences EVER haha!  :)

I don't think my wallet is bigger than yours, but I agree it's pretty lame how JB creates hype by "limited" supply, though that is how good marketing is done with supply and demand.

Honestly, one way Jordan brand can help to curb high resale prices and pairs reaching ebay/amazon beforehand is tracking pairs and cracking down on retailers who sell on ebay.  Those are the guys who set the pace and start with high resell prices that individuals follow after.

There are brands who actually track their product FYI.  The shoe brand Minnetonka actually puts 2 UPC barcodes on all their shoes.  1 is the regular UPC, and the other is a tracking UPC that tells them who was the original account holding retailer.  I used to work for a boutique that carried the usual Nikes, Jordans, Adidas, etc plus Minnetonka and all of them were sold on ebay and amazon.  Well guess what, one day the Minnetonka rep called and said hey, we bought a pair from an ebay seller that has whole size runs of product and the item traces back to your account.  STOP selling on ebay and Amazon or we will close your account!

JORDAN BRAND / NIKE, I know you are lurking here.  Other brands are doing this, step up your game and protect your consumers!

Nike could care less what happens to the product after it's sold. Bottom line is they are making their money and they can't control something after you own it.

Jay Z and Kanye ruined the Jordan 1 community

 Yes and no

Tend to think it's the hype sites like [redacted info] causing all the shenanigans.
That'd be me. But I think Imma take a hiatus from this thread for a while.Just seems a lil weird in here
Did i miss something? resell talk?
My guess is it's that green pair spoted a whole ago that never dropped or that Dover market pair
Yes, that green suede pair would be nice.

Still don't get the frag craziness, also 1's don't look all that great beat up either IMO,IMO best looking beat sneakers are black cement 3's.
What's y'all opinion on a "conditional" 1's ? They look good or nah ? I think it depends on colorway

^ones you can wear a lifetime, 3s crack after 10 years or so. that being said i rather cop 1s

lol sorry bout the running sentences, that tracking issue would make life great. JB when you skim these forums take a minute and figure out how to make us all happy not just resellers. Oh and nothing is said was directed towards anyone in particular just a general opinion. Remember when they werent trying to ***** out shoes and the releases were once a month and even between nike and JB the releases werent cramed together and if you had the funds you got the shoe and if you had patience you typically got them for a discount? those are your true fans JB so why squash loyalty for a few extra bucks? there are only so many bridges to be burned before the money train can no longer make it home again.
