Thats rightI was under the impression that a 9.5 is a 9.5 men basically. I believe I'm correct. But if anyone knows 100% let me know.
womens 11 = mens 9.5

My bad.. Should be a Mens 9.5 is a girls 11. I guess the easier way to write it is the flip of what I did..

I think that would be true if it were boys GS. But for this release, they are specifically stating that the sizing is for women. Therefore you need to knock it down 1.5.I was under the impression that a 9.5y is a 9.5 men basically. I believe I'm correct. But if anyone knows 100% let me know.
I was under the impression that a 9.5Y would be a size 7 in mens. Why would they loose out on money back making a 9.5Y = 9.5 Mens?

Mens 9.5 = Women's 11 Yes.

Yes. You are also correct.I was under the impression that a 9.5y is a 9.5 men basically. I believe I'm correct. But if anyone knows 100% let me know.
INCORRECT. A 9.5Y per Nike's NEW GS sizes is an 11 womens. I'm not sure why they didn't just flat out say "We're making Women's Jordans again." The whole "Y" thing is confusing the masses. I still see this as a sneaky way to keep the attention of the smaller footed men.I was under the impression that a 9.5Y would be a size 7 in mens. Thing is that my gf is a sz 7.5 in womens nike shoes, but when she buys boys AJ1s or AJ4s, she needs to convert it. Ends up being a 6 in boys GS.http://news.nike.com/news/jordan-brand-expands-grade-school-sizing-for-girls
"In recent years, Jordan Brand’s consumer research revealed that girls often outgrow the grade school shoe offerings around the age of 12, which means young girls were struggling to find Jordan Brand products that fit their style and size. Beginning in January, that will no longer be the case, as select grade school offerings will be available in sizes extending up to a U.S. 9.5Y."
Seems to me that 9.5Y is a 9.5 mens because of big foot girls.
They would actually make more money. The new gs sizes only applies to gs only releases.I was under the impression that a 9.5Y would be a size 7 in mens. Why would they loose out on money back making a 9.5Y = 9.5 Mens?

BIGGER footed women is a better way to say it...or maybe even the taller more athletic women? I know about one out of every 20 women 5'6 and taller AND who play sports who wear smaller than a wmns 9. My point is a 6'0 women's basketball player isn't getting into the old GS sizing in Jordan. They were alienating their female athletes who wanted to wear feminine J's. Even Allyson Felix couldn't even fit the old GS sizes.Seems to me that 9.5Y is a 9.5 mens because of big foot girls.

I don't think JB will be losing money at all on these...especially for more popular releases like Citrus 11's and the Mint X's on the way. I also doubt they're making as many as they do in mens numbers.

Hmmm, interesting. We'll see, I can't see a 9.5 youth being the same size as a 9.5 mens.
When I mention losing money, aren't youth sizes cheaper than mens? So if we believe that 9.5Y = 9.5 Mens, JB just basically reduced the price for Men who are a size 7.5-9.5 ..
It was clear for me when I read the article, but you're right...the way they're doing the sizes aren't clear. If they're doing it to appeal to a larger women's foot then labeling 9.5Y (gs sizing) is confusing. Why not just label it 11 Wmns? I'm guessing they may have done that in an attempt to keep it simple. It just makes it more complicated if you're not used to converting sizes.I under
I understand the way womens and kids sizes work lol. I'm just going off of what I'm reading. They aren't clear about it, but like I said, we shall see. I hope a 9.5y is a 9.5 men.
my wife is 5'10", wears a womens size 10. Love tall women.

Or gained money from those men who can wear that size who will purchase the sneaker, ie BHM 1's.
Good point. I'm just imagining a massive GR like the Legend Blue 11s and not really thinking about smaller releases such as the BHM 1s.
It is, BUT the molds may look more like typical GS molds. They actually increased the GS prices too. They're now $130-$140. Before they were less. Nike is smart...they're making their $ either way. I'm actually counting on the confusion to throw people off these first few releases so I can cop my GS kicks with ease. If anybody was trying to cop those Jordan Futures that dropped the other day those are a perfect example.Hmmm, interesting. We'll see, I can't see a 9.5 youth being the same size as a 9.5 mens.

My guess is they'll be narrow like the older Women's Jordan releases. This is all speculation until I get a pair in my hand. For the shoes that have both Mens AND GS sizing GS sizes will stop at the usual 7Y. The GS exclusive shoes (Citrus 11, BHM 1 GS, FTLOG 7's) will go up to a 9.5 mens/9.5Y. Make sense?I would be interested to see the mold/shape of the 9.5Y versus the 9.5 Mens.
For Retro 6's, for instance, would they use the GS mold for 9.5Y, or would they use the Men's Retro 6 mold from 7.5Y-9.5Y?
For you 9.5 cats, I don't know if I would be too excited if they'll just be making larger sized GS shoes.
