If this becomes the precedent that juco years do not count against your 4 years of eligibility I could see schools using juco as a cheat code to allow players to develop for 2-3 years and they come into college much more physically developed and fundamentally sound with 4 years of eligibility.

For example, Georgia just got to commit from a kid who was part of the 2023 recruiting class but won't be at George until 2026. Theoretically this kid will have 4 years of eligibility and be able to play through the 2029 season if he chooses.

Sounds good in theory but the problem is keeping a kid committed for those extra years, it’s a season to season business now

What was the point then? :lol

Honestly, WSU might as well fold the football program at this rate. Focus on being a basketball school.

Also, Dickert going to Wake is just so weird. It's practically a lateral move, even if he's making more money. He's going to face the same portal challenges that he did at WSU.

Also, I'm convinced neither of these schools who hired our coaches away (Oklahoma, Wake) actually paid attention to WSU football the last couple seasons. They started out strong each year, and just completely fell apart mid-season, losing to absolute trash teams, with no offensive game plan and their defenses getting shredded. Oklahoma is going to have extreme buyer's remorse on this. Mateer ain't Cam Ward. Wake is whatever. They're a bottom feeder ACC team.

Also, Dickert has said he doesn't want to coach for very long. He wants to retire in the next five years, or so. He just went for a payday and will probably be bought out at some point.

Remember when you all called Lincoln a grouch for banning that young reporter from practice, and said he was soft?

This is the same kid. And he’s already gotten in trouble for asking kids (in season!) unsolicited portal questions. Remember he asked our true freshman RB if he was disappointed he wasn’t started and if he’d stick around after a RS year. And asked bear Alexander why he wasn’t playing and if he’d portal.

Bayou Billy being dead in the water to this in 5 weeks deserves a Hallmark movie
Honestly thought this season was gonna be a disaster, FSU style, when the scheduled released :lol

Credit to Bayou Billy for really turning things around in the 2nd half of the season.

Now the future genuinely looks bright next year with Lagway and co
