I feel like the loser of Texas vs A&M game should still get in. I hate the whole resume thing if a team is winning. I have heard Texas had a weak schedule and Texas A&M had a favorable schedule. Its not their fault that the teams they played had a bad year. If you put those both of them on a neutral field with Tennesse, Penn St, Colorado, Boise or BYU they would beat them

Yup. 9-3 A&M is firmly out - but they'd have a hard time complaining about a potential 10-3 Year 1 to an Elko-era reset in a year where they lost a ton to the portal and had this much volatility at the QB spot.

I don't know what happens with two-loss Texas... In that scenario two-loss Bama's going to play in the SEC title game against two-loss A&M so they're probably locked in. Committee has to parse out Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss and Tennessee for what's likely two spots in that scenario? Two-loss Texas no doubt has the weakest resume of the bunch.

Ultimately this is all headed where we've known it's headed. The SEC and Big10 are going to look around in two years and wonder why they're giving playoff spots to BYU or Boise State or whomever and say "nah **** this we're out".

Two years? They're doing that right now. Both conferences are already lobbying for a set number of automatic bids to ensure that they each get at least 4 teams in every year. They're essentially telling everyone else to fight for the scraps.

My biggest gripe with the ACC is their weak, passive leadership. If the SEC's top programs were getting the treatment that the ACC contenders have gotten the last two years, Sankey would be raising hell publicly. Instead, ACC's leadership sits idly by...
