Official 2023 San Francisco Giants Off-Season Thread - Jung Hoo Lee signs with SF 6-years $113 Million

I was hoping that start in Colorado was just a Coors start for Hudson but he's been very inconsistent the second half of the season.

This is not good heading into the playoffs. If we have to use Bumgarner in the wild card playoff we only have Peavy to rely on for a solid outing.

And who are they playing this weekend again ? Perfect confidence booster . He's way better than Vogey

I disagree that he is way better than Vogelsong. I'm curious, what do you see that makes you think that he's better?

When Timmy has a solid start >> Vogeys solid outings

This guy has done so much to the franchise. After the bonds Era he was the player that turned things around. Now you wanna have him rot in the pen when guys like Vogey and Hudson are doing just as bad or worst than he is ? If they are saving him for October that's fine but give him a regular season game to see what he can do . He can't do any worse than the two guys I named above

Well the difference between those two and Timmy is Timmy lost his stuff a few years back and struggles with some might consider the fundamentals whereas Hudson and Vogelsong lack consistency and can turn themselves around easier.

Stopped watching when the Dodgers were up 6-1 only to find out they lost.

Cubs :smokin

Isn't Hudson battling injury? Maybe Lincecum should start just for the fact that he might be better than an injured player.

relief pitcher #55 done a lot, and he's been rewarded handsomely multiple times for it.

he is not injured, but simply broken. a pitcher that does not pitch.

he has had more run support consistently more than either vogelsong or hudson.

his ERA in losses is worse than either vogelsong or hudson.

his ERA in no-decision starts are worse than either vogelsong or hudson.

the same trend goes for his opponent OBPS, opponent BA, WHIP, and many other measureables.

i would additionally contend having a "solid outing" that gives the team a chance to win is much more useful than having a starter that is either boom or (inexplicably huge) bust.
