Overall advances in nutrition, strength/conditioning and body maintenance methods have dramatically enhanced the shelf life of all athletes.

Not to mention pulling away from certain outdated training approaches, like a lot of heavy sparring in camp. Think about how many careers were probably shortened by repeated concussions in the gym.

I don’t know if this has changed significantly in boxing.

…but it’s changed a lot in MMA.
