The difference is Europe already has an established presence in world football.

Meanwhile you have owners like di Laurentiis who talk about never signing African players again in general, because he thinks the African football tournaments that his players leave for are jokes.

I don’t get how someone can’t see things like that and still refuse to understand why an African football fan could root for another African country. Morocco winning an African tournament and then going on to beat European teams shows that African football made huge strides to be more on par with the European and South American “standard”.

sure i can understand how someone might do that.

if i had to guess it's a minority view tho,


it cuts both ways,

because the economic history and current situation of north vs sub saharan africa are pretty different. and by the same logic I can imagine resentment of opportunities north africans have that a sub saharan african might not.
