So, goofy as he may be, I think I’d rather have Zubac than Mike Muscala. Which, in case you don’t remember, is who we gave the Lakers for him.

THJ gotta opt out, right?

He’s played well enough on the whole this year he’ll get a multi year deal that probably makes sense.

Or does he opt in andjust take the 18m’s and gamble on himself having another good year shooting the ball?

IMO they got until the end of Luka's rookie deal to get him another playmaker.

Yea but DAL hasn't had a great track record of getting that marquee guy which I think will be necessary for them to take that next step given the questions around KP's health.

I mean we've seen teams that had extraordinary young talent not be able to break thru (ie OKC).
For sure.

But I think we’re losing some context if we’re looking at their scramble to pair a star with fading, clearly declining Dirk and not a ton else on the roster.

There aren’t going to be many more attractive places moving forward than being flanked by Luka and KP.

True, but I think players will want to play with Luka.

Just remember, Dallas was one Latvian unicorn away from taking this series. Good series Dallas

What real max players of interest are out there currently besides Giannis?

This was a weird series for the Clippers in the sense that the team they play next round will be worse than the Mavericks. I expect them to roll in 5

A guy like Brogdon wouldve made them serious, they don’t need a big name.

Porzingis is taking up a ton of cap space, he kills their chances if he’s not playing regardless of who they sign.

What I mean is, Luka's rookie deal makes it easier for them to do some things financially. Becomes much harder once that is up.
Will just depend how they spend cash between now and then.

What will kill them is if they overreach desperately trying to get a third and pay someone on a THJ or Chandler Parsons tier deal.
