He has to stay active somehow. I think if there is not enough progress with the COVID-19 in the next couple weeks, he might be like **** it and fight a David Lemieux with no audience in July. Same goes for other fighters.I'll believe it when I see it when it comes to someone like Canelo fighting with no gate involved in that fight.
The executives at DAZN have to consider this. It is a good opportunity to promote their network by having their fights on when everyone is stuck at home.If Canelo is still getting his $35 mil guaranteed per fight it won't matter to him on the gate revenue
He isI expected Spence to take a lighter touch tbh. I won't complain though!
Garcia isn't a walk in the park for anybody. He is
Sucks to not have an audience. I wonder how much of a paycut it will be. Maybe ESPN is willing to front more?Loma and Lopez looking like September according to ESPN
Lomachenko, Lopez eye Sept. unification fight
Top Rank's Bob Arum said plans are underway for a September lightweight unification fight between Vasiliy Lomachenko, who holds the WBC, WBA and WBO 135-pound titles, and IBF champion Teofimo Lopez.www.espn.com
Most likely they are biting the bullet and hoping for the best. Everytime they try to set up Lomachenko for a PPV fight (Verdejo, Mikey Garcia, now Loma), the plans fell through. Top Rank and ESPN are probably fed up at this point and want to get it over with.Probably hoping that the PPV buys will make up some of that lost revenue since they will bank on those who would normally go will just purchase it. No where near the cost of a seat but at least it’s something.
