Its kind of an insult to call steph one of the most talented players ever right?

Maybe im differentiating talent and skill too much, but when I think of most talented ever I think of freaks of nature like Lebron, Shaq, Wilt. Steph is maybe the most skilled player I've ever seen. Dude isnt physically talented like your lebrons and shaqs, but changes the game in a way we have never seen before because of how skilled he is in certain areas.

Too me talent equates to skill + physical ability. Steph comes up short in the physical ability part.

Shooting with accuracy he has from the catch or off the dribble is 100% a rare talent. The same with his ability to finish below the rim. He’s as much a goat as anyone

I don't disagree here, but I also don't think this is something the dude was just naturally blessed with. I think he worked his *** off to be as skilled as he is at it. To me, from a basketball perspective, there is a difference between talent and skill. Maybe im differentiating the two too much, but talent to me has always been something someone was born with like running fast or jumping.

I think thats where Im at too. Steph is maybe the most skilled player to ever play the game, but he lacks the physical attributes that a lot of other freaks of nature possess. That's not a knock on steph at all either, if anything it makes what he is doing even more impressive.

This is how @wavycrocket can still say that Steph Curry is underrated. Just because he doesn't have freakish athleticism that we think of in the form of Bron or Russ, that does not mean that he comes up short on physical ability.

You can’t discredit him being born with touch but then give credit to MJ for having a 41 inch vertical.

Two different gifts, both should be appreciated

I'm not discrediting his touch at all. I think he has the greatest skill of any shooter ive ever seen, but I also think that most of that was probably developed. Most people arent developing a 50 inch vertical. Sure you can make it a little better, but for the most part, you were probably given natural talent to allow that in the first place. I think steph is more a by-product of proper coaching and repetition.

Steph doing what he is doing in the NBA at 6' 3" below average athleticism is maybe the most impressive thing ive ever seen.

The argument is about talent, not legacy right?

BIG FISH BIG FISH probably thinks I’m dissing guys like lebron and Magic because I didn’t mention them initially. They are aliens too

What is your thoughts on the Magic this evening?

If choking is a talent then harden is the undisputed GOAT

I actually think the magic have a decent chance to upset Philly tonite :lol

The Warriors don't even need an equal replacement for KD, they're still contenders as long as Steph is healthy.
Man Houston had that boy stuck on the spin cycle in the conf finals. Playoff Curry not even top ten in the league

If we’re talking about unique skill sets I can see it

I’ve never seen someone just completely physically dominate the entire league in my lifetime the way shaq did.

I’ve never seen someone have to be double teamed at halfcourt like steph

I’ve never seen someone dominate the ground game like St. Pierre

Being a dead eye shooter is definitely a talent but also something that needs to be honed. I realized it was an innate thing when I started hooping with some of my extended family and saw that all of us could shoot :lol. Hand/eye coordination is a gift

Imagine calling someone who averages
26/5/6 on 50/40/89

For his career in the playoffs Not a playoff performer or top ten in the offs. What world is this. Name ten current players in the NBA with better playoff averages
