It's a combination of that and the players being more talented. Cause even with the pace increase minutes per player are lower than ever.

You just have big men who now have elite court vision and crazy athletic wings who can rebound as well as some bigs. There are at least ten players who to me are a triple double threat every night and idk if I could say the same thing about any other era of basketball
