Why would people rather see billionaire owners pocket more money?

It's not a matter of what any of us want, it's a matter of what the owners want. And, history says they will get. I'm just being realistic when I say we are headed towards another lockout so the owners can reset some things to benefit them.

I think he was referring to the idea of contracts being voided

Yes, it was called the middle passage, christianity, Slavery, Dred Scott, Jim Crow, lynching, police brutality, and now Donald Trump.

I can say my ancestors/family went through slavery for hundreds of years and an attempted genocide. But why? There’s all types of evil in this world.

We were talking about the job market and agents/trainers in the NBA. This is not the place for this convo anyway.

Also, FDT.

I work in health care

In health care there is the private sector where employees are paid a lot more up front, but their job security is ****. You can get fired for the smallest reasons.

If you choose to work for the state you get paid **** but it's really hard to get fired

There are pro and cons to both. No job is perfect. And you live with what you choose. It's not like you can choose to jump to the state system for the job security and expect to continue to get paid like you're working for the private sector.

It's not an exact analogy. But what I'm trying to say is that when you choose something, you give up something else. Very rare that you can have both.

When you sign a super long term contract, you gain job security and stability that you don't have when you sign a short, more mobile contract.
Davis signed the contract, knowing full well what he was giving up.

He signed for the job security and longevity at the time. But now he's deciding he wants the mobility. Can't have both.

This ties back into what I was arguing earlier. What was the issue you guys been arguing? Players deserve to change their mind at any time because owners change their mind too (when they make trades). Ok, fine. That's fair. But if you wanna leave you have to leave the rest of the money that's owed you on the table. You can't have both. Either you want to leave, or you want to stay and get the rest of the money that you're owed. That's more or less where I'd like to see the owners take it next lockout.

I think that's fair. If you pay a month for cable but you only get two weeks of cable service wouldn't you want some money back?

Zion’s parents won’t allow him to sign with Klutch.

Also that guy is reaching super hard pulling the race card on white trainers. Wasn’t Brickley a no name who was put on by Melo? I’m sure there are better non social media trainers, but I don’t **** with using the race card to take away how hard someone may have worked to get where they are.

A lot of luck is involved as well. Gotta know the right people, be at the right place at the right time, etc.

But pulling the race card here is lazy. Work hard, network right, go after the elite high school kids and make them stick with you when they’re drafted. Don’t go complaining about race when you’re losing clients.

Why do you think Zion’s parents won’t let him sign with Klutch?

It's not an NBA-owned entity, so it'll never happen, but it's not a bad idea. The NBA used to have legends games (they were pretty bad, unfortunately) on All-Star weekend. This would be the modern version of that.
yea i remember the legends games

always had an ambulance come in the middle of the game cuz a player got hurt :lol

I’m surprised more NBA contracts don’t have a **** ton of incentives. Seems like a win win situation.

Of course you can state that you've gone through slavery, and of course there is genocide and all sorts of atrocities, to that we agree. However, the root cause of such wars, are the fight over resources, and the control of such. White supremacy was created to ensure the control of such resources, and that is the battle that Women and people of color are fighting right now. White patriarchal rule ensures that if you are white and male, that you will have a greater chance to succeed in this world. This is how white supremacy works.
So tell us how your being white and male is somehow a disadvantage in a world that is built for you to succeed, even if you have no talent for anything other than bullskip?

I mean, you see who is in the white house, right?

KHUFU KHUFU

I truly truly believe in hard work paying off. Constant repetition is the path to progression. Everyone in my circle growing up during my childhood and in my professional life whether they were Jewish, Jamaican, African, Asian, Dominican all worked their asses off to be in successful situations to provide a better life for their kids, families, or themselves. Hell we’ve all failed at one point. If I ever got a job because of my skin color I wouldn’t accept it. I’d be at a disadvantage if I lacked experience for said position, lacked potential, or didn’t know the right people.

The guy in the White House proved to all of us how unfit he is for that job fairly quickly. That’s all I’m gonna say. Don’t associate me with that idiot.

Alright, the woj pod today is a must listen

Really like the hawks gm, he comes from elite lineage. Pat Riley’s heat with spo, bezdelik, Stan Van gundy to the warriors with Nellie into the lacob era

And he comes from the video room world, they built different

I trust the hawks rebuild even more

You mentioned every ethnicity, yet you failed to mention being Black.
That is very telling.
There are some who choose the way of the immigrant. The model minority who suggests that if you work hard, you can make it in this world, and you won't offend the white man who owns everything. Then there is the path of the conscious individual who realizes the oppression is the very thing that places limits upon who you are, then who you want to be. It is the exact opposite of free will. There was a time in this country that when you immigrated here, you had to have a sponsor, and that sponsor had to be considered white and Christian. This encouraged the immigrant to behave, then not being a burden upon the system that was built for Whites. You know, welfare and stuff like that. They told the immigrants that if you fell upon the system, you'd be jailed, placed in debtors prison, then deported. So that threat ensured that you would work hard, then bragging about it. It is because you knew your place.

Then there are those of us who refuse to forget what our ancestors went through, and that is who you are talking to right now.

Educate him!

Lol what? So you wanted me to say “black” instead of Jamaican and African? Ok.

Yes we had a sponsor. She was from Moscow. Only reason my parents liked her was because they understood the language and didn’t know a word of English.

I’ve asked you multiple times what do you do? What’s your profession/field? I’m curious to know. I don’t even know what we’re debating anymore tbh.

But I believe in working hard and knowing the right people to achieve success. I’m white and failed numerous times, but eventually you reach your goals with the right persistence. I also live in the most diverse city on this planet, so maybe that plays a part as well.

sounding like dean cain in that racist episode of a different world
