My only issue w/ that Jordan comment about 6 rings being more difficult is that if, hypothetically, there was a random basketball player named JeBron Lames who had said that, then plenty of ppl would be up in arms & claiming he’s a diva or he’s insecure.

Wanna see the Lakers make the playoffs and get washed by GS. Bron by ***** but he needs to get knocked down a pedestal for thinking life would be easy in LaLa land

I’d rather lose to the Warriors in 4 than to miss the playoffs

I’d also rather see the Lakers miss the playoffs too

But if you’re Bron, to lose to them in the 1st rd while gettin swept, right after you moved to the West. It would look pretty bad man

True but it’s kind of expected that they’d get washed by GSW.

watching the Kangz from home would sting worse. also, it’ll be interesting to see the pelicans/lakers games later this month. I’d play AD 42 minutes or either 8. No in between

I don’t fully agree. Had Mike been around for the social media era, I do think his image would be far different.
You can say that for about every player pre 2010. Getting slandered for off court stuff shouldve tarnish who you are on court.

Money was too savy to had gotten caught up in the social media era.

Just look at how he conducts himself in interviews, the poise, the confidence, he always seemed in control

Someone posted a clip of him talking about Game 7 against the Pacers and the way he kept in control when the reporters were trying to get him to slip up was fascinating to watch. Especially in contrast to Beta Boy’s blow up a few days ago

I gotta leave my place to head that way in 40 minutes. Sixers better not leave me in a pissed off mood.

If you're a Bron fan and refuse to acknowledge his role in how the team looks today it says more about you than the people calling him out. It's obvious he's played a role in how they've played this year. It's ok to not praise him every waking moment

I'm reposting my response from the Lakers thread:

This season is just a calamity of errors on everyone's part.

Like I've said in the past, the front office prioritizing veteran players over shooters will go down as one of their dumbest mistakes. Not only that, they give up our 21 yo starting center (Zubac) for a guy who literally contributes nothing and pretty much has a played at all (Mike Monscala). there's more to being a general manager than just hunting big fish, we have one of the most poorly constructed rosters in the NBA.

2. Coaching has been horrendous as well. after two-and-a-half years it still looks like we're not running an offense, and this predates LeBron so we can't blame it on "LeBron-ball". Like I said earlier, I don't think we can develop young players. Brandon Ingram is still taking the same horrendous shots, and our young guys still can't shoot free throws and do a lot of the things you wouls expect after two or three years.

Also our defense is falling off of a cliff. You can't just blame it on Lonzo being out. Defense is about concepts and fundamentals. Good defensive teams don't drop off a cliff when one player gets injured. Injuries or part of the game, we're not the only team that has had Injuries. Look at the Celtics, Rockets, Jazz, Nuggets, etc.

3. Not to absolve LeBron of guilt but he's been throwing for us and we're still. Last night he dropped 28, 11 and 16 and he played heavy minutes and was essentially our primary ball-handler. I'm not exactly sure what more you want from him. He hasn't assists and probably should have had 20 if our guys could make shots. He's not perfect, especially on the defensive end but I think he's doing his part. The rest of the roster is just trash.

*small sample size alert*

In 112 minutes the lineup of
K. Durant, .S. Curry, .D. Cousins, .K. Thompson, .D. Green

ORTG. 114.3

Replace Cousins with Looney

260 minutes

ORTG. 122.4
DRTG. 104.4
NRTG. 17.9
Gonna be interesting to see how many minutes he gets in the playoffs. I imagine the first adjustment teams will make is targeting him in the pnr

Brons in a tough spot.

Injuries and trade rumours have killed the Lakers.

Now he's in a position where he has to go GOD mode and put his body on the line to get them into the playoffs. Where they will likely get washed in the first round and he will have to hold all the blame the same way.

at least we’ll hear the end of “but he’s been to __ straight finals!”

I think it is pretty clear Lebron would rather miss the playoffs this season and get the extra time off rather than play 4-5 games extra and get the backlash.

He will be fresher for next season more than any other
Kobe or Jordan would have never had this mindset. I won’t get into who’s better but greatest player is more than stats to me.
