but does that make Hayward's presence (or lack thereof) any less harmful to the teams success? & I haven't watched too many celtics games but of the games i followed kyrie looked like he has made a concerted effort to be and has been a better playmaker than he has in the past.
In short, yes. Whether he makes the effort or not it's not who he truly is. It's a bad fit that team will be better with a more all around PG. Like folks have touched upon he had his ideal situation playing with LeBron he just didn't realize till now.

This is one of the best teams he likely ever be on but he's sounding like a confused teenager regarding his free agency Everytime he talks to media instead of focusing on how to get a chip. I hope he proves me wrong cuz that is a damn good team when on.

?? but does The Celtics not clicking and having inner turmoil fall on Stevens at all? I mean that's a pretty big part of coaching.

He said he couldn’t wait to show his improvement before the season started but I think his rough start got him a little out of whack mentally. His mechanics improved, he’s getting confident, and the results are improving.

Our coaching :smokin

NT Jinx in 3....2....1..... lol

But if Giannis has the jumper then Ingram needs a new name lol

It should. At the same time, how do you get a team full of FA's and potential trade chips to buy in?

i've been in and out of this thread for a minute but i come back and apparently the sky is falling for the celtics

i think folks just had their expectations for boston too high is year. Tatum and Jaylen were expected to make big jumps in their games, MAGA Hayward was supposed to return to his Utah days, and Kyrie was going to be the unequivocal leader. can't say any of those have happened. meanwhile, the rest of the east got a lot better even with bron leaving. just a lot of counting chickens before they hatched.

They were justifiably hyped going into the season. You'd think that adding a top 15 player and another former all star albeit coming off a devastating injury to a core group that got all the way to game 7 was a shoe in for the finals. Combine that with Bron's exodus from the conference it should have been theirs for the taking, but that's why you play the games. They may be the 4th best team in the conference right now at best. The rest of the east has the top end talent and depth to supplant them rather easily now.

I didn't really know what you meant.

I'm just trying to understand not wanting Kyrie Irving but wanting to commit something like $35M/year to Kemba Walker.
Your second sentence literally contradicts your first one. Nowhere was anything discussed about three max guys.

And if u so badly want to adopt my opinion I don't think he's proven and the guy is still clearly confused as a person. Kemba knows what it is at this point in his career and we've seen him lead a championship team before. And if u really wanna go there kmba has lead teams to playoffs...

It’s a shame Mike doesn’t do any work with the media...

But on the flip side it’s kinda dope that he doesn’t. It really adds to the mystique...

That being said it would be cool to hear him chop it up with other vets along with certain reporters & analysts.

Lol exactly. Everyone underperforms when their is poor leadership. It's like y'all get it but u don't want u

Even with that said, you’d have to factor in a adjustment period with integrating a washed Hayward, a now healthy Myrie and the young guys fresh off a ECF appearance with bigger egos. Maybe I saw it differently from the jump. @leemelone saw it

I knew Toronto would be better with Kawhi. I knew Bud would help Milwaukee be very good (maybe not this good but still) and I knew philly would still be there. Add to it the moves they made, i’m not surprised they are in 5th hovering around 3rd/4th.

I thought Toronto would be the only threat to them going into the season after getting Kiwi. It's more than an adjustment period though, when you hear comments like Morris Sr. and Jayson made that sounds like a squad that don't like playing with each other.

You didn’t think Philly would improve after making the playoffs? Even without Stringer, they were going to be in the mix.

There were limitations on Philly prior to getting Stringer. As much as Embiid has improved, Simmons really hasn't at all and never really bought in Fultz. As far as serious contender nah wasn't buying Philly at all pre Stringer.

Not to mention the Bucks, I thought they'd be better with Bud, but best record in the league better? Not even the Bucks fans would have predicted that.

This was the correct take
