In 90% of NBA Cities...games with 7pm start times on a weekday...you won't see the seats filled until later in the game. Traffic + Rush Hour

I'm not sure where you'll find a full building before tip.

it's pretty consistent with the rockets. even on weekends

The Rockets have always had trouble filling the arena dating back to the Yao years.

Portland is usually pretty good at tip-off, but it's a relatively small city with not a whole lot else going on. And, the street car drops you off right at the arena. Easy and relatively quick access.

I been asking all year why the Rockets arena is ALWAYS empty. I never noticed it til this year. Rockets need to go back to them pinstripe joints from the early 2000's.

Those lower seats are owned by corporates, the real fans sit at the top seats.
I pretty much sat next to courtside around half-time, the last time I visited H-town.

this is a plausible reason for those empty seats.

not a good look on tv though.

But I agree, the Rockets too good to have that many empty seats during home games.

PG is ballin. I generally like how he plays, but I see that he borrowed the fall down and kick his leg on a 3 from the Harden play book against the rockets. I hope he doesn't make a habit of it.
