Laker fans really think Lebron is joining.

Let me tell you guys a little story.
It was the offseason of 2016 and I'm still trying to return the hookers and Blow I ordered for my WorldBeater Championship Parade Party that never came to fruition because OKC blew a 3-1 lead.
I'm a little bummed but it's 4th of July weekend and since the Hookers and Blow I ordered had a no return policy I decide to have a 4th of July party instead.
My lady is up at 7am that morning cooking breakfast and cleaning the house.
She brings me breakfast in bed but I take one look, and go back to sleep with plans of having that for brunch.
Now, KD had just finished an article about how he felt so honored to see a city grow and grow with it, and how he couldn't imagine a future without it.
Fastfoward to about 11am and my girl comes shaking me waking me up, I look at the clock and think she's telling me it's too late to be asleep, but no.....it's my Mother on the telephone and my girl said it's an emergency.sI pick up the phone, and I"m shook...I think something has happened to Pops or soemthing and my Mother is screaming. F KD F KD F KD, that little B signed with the enemy!

Moral of this story is, don't feel like I did on the 4th of July 2016.
Get your hopes down.

Nothing is set in stone but if Lebron passes on LA, it'll definitely hurt, but it won't hurt like Kevin ******* Durant leaving my team to go play for the Warriors. That's a pain I don't ever wanna feel.

Yeah definitely not. The Lakers won 35 games with Lonzo and Ingram missing 50+ games combined. They have several high profile young players and if they all stay healthy next year would be expected to be a playoff team in the next year or two even if they didn’t make any major moves. They add the best player in the world that’s made the Finals 7 years in a row and another star player on top of their current roster they’re automatically going to be looked at as a team that should contend to win the championship next year.

If he can’t get a significantly more talented Lakers roster than his current one to the Finals at the very least next year then he’s gonna get slandered like hell for that decision. Like legitimately unless CP3 goes to the Lakers with him and screws over the Rockets and Kawhi gets traded from the Spurs he could end up having a hard time even making it past the second round in the West next season.

You mentioned it earlier in the post. NFL players don't have the leverage that baseball players and basketball players do. They don't have guarantee contract and no other country watches American football so there are no opportunities to make money in a lockout. During the last NBA lockout, JR Smith went to China for a couple months and made the same amount of money he would have in the NBA. NFL players just don't have that opportunity.

Also, just generally speaking NBA players make more money and have more money saved up so they could potentially go a season without a paycheck where as NFL players make less and have a shorter careers. Owners know that NFL players can't go a season without game checks.

It's unfortunate, but the dynamics of football just put players in a weaker bargaining position.

Just so you know, a lot of NBA players can’t go a full year without a check either & their owners know that too. It was highly thought that the players union took a bad deal in 2011 & Derek Fisher took a lot of heat for that.
