We should just develop our young talent and forget about mortgaging the future for a year of Betts or two years of Lindor.

They have been doing that for years, they have a top 10 minor league farm system. But that window is closing, and if something isn’t done soon, that window is gonna close and fans are going to be mad as **** knowing they were a player or 2 away from winning a title. Then being stuck with a mediocre team or rebuild for a while

What bugs me is the statements made by Dave and the front office: “Agressive,” “most turnover”, and “shuffle the deck,” but here we are. Either do something or eat your words and stay the course.

Lindor and Clevinger is the trade here. As for Mookie, if he’s available now then he’ll be available during the summer, and maybe for less if the Red Sox aren’t in contention and he’s still unwilling to talk extension.

@cincoceisdos been MIA, but we might need that new thread title for new juju. A lot of nothing happening in the offseason but this is a thing:

I'm thinking Seager, Joc and Will Smith or Keibert Ruiz will be what it takes. Dodgers would be eating all of that Price money. I can see the headlines already:
"Dodgers pay the Price for Mookie"

I would rather them do this then do nothing.

In a couple of Dodger groups I'm a part of, they keep saying we have the most talent in the MLB...I don't disagree but it's time to move some of those prospects and get some proven talent in and win this championship.

At some point, the Dodgers have to have some level of self-awareness to understand teams are going to call their bluff moving forward until they make something happen. It'll be embarrassing if they enter the season with the failure to sign Cole, Rendon and/or pull of any of these deals (Lindor or Betts). FWIW, I was listening to the arguable the most famous Boston homer Bill Simmons, who also happened to have Ryen Russillo on, and it seemed like they've already accepted that Mookie will be traded, almost as if they may have more knowledge about this than they let off.

Read that Morosi piece on MLB.com and saw Boston would want a starting pitcher, so it may look like Seager, Gonsolon, and Will Smith or Ruiz. At this point I'd think Seager could be replaced by Joc if Boston wants Ruiz instead of Smith, but 3 of those guys in whatever variable is a fair haul IMO.

But wouldn’t that essentially just be for 1 year of mookie? I believe he’s an unrestricted free agent next year, part of the reason the Red Sox probably wanna deal him now to get something for him.

If it is for 1 year of mookie and a washed up price, hell no

Gf for me a Seager jersey from Dodgers clubhouse. Wrong size. And she lost the receipt. Gonna go try and exchange for a different player. Lol.

I don’t know man. Even though it’s a rental, feel like we have to do something.

What Dodger groups are you part of?

with their recent history, I’d be leaning towards it being a rental. and for the money price is owed, we’re doing the Red Sox a favor

$32 mil a year for price but not willing to pay $20 mil for ryu or even bumgarner

I’m assuming the stall for the potential Betts/Price trade is just as much the finances, as it is the players involved. We don’t know how much money LA would want in return with the players, which of course may be dependent on what players/prospects Boston would be receiving.

No way LA parts with May/Gonsolon + Will Smith/Keibert Ruiz, and potentially another major leaguer, without receiving at least $20M+ (Deferred) in return along with Betts and Price.

r/baseball showing sympathy for dodger and yankee fans

this is the end of days.

also, I hate baseball even more now. Fml.

WOW! Feels a bit different than the Astros WS, because those Red Sox games weren't as close and they were obviously just the better team. But damn, this sucks for baseball.

Edit:
Made this when I thought about 2018:
