I think what you wrote about League losing his job and Janson taking over should fall into the "realistic" category....as League has lost his closer job multiple times in his career already. Janson's cutter is one of the filthiest pitches in all of baseball, so I never quite understood why Mattingly named League the closer to begin with.

Just like last night, couldn't get out of the inning, so Paco Rodriguez was sent in to close out the game (Jensen was used to set up League). I like League, I just don't think he's a good closer, at least not as good as Jensen can be. Jensen was solid, the only thing that derailed him was his health. League, to his credit, stepped up and went on a tear. Colletti, a Sabean disciple enamored with 3 year contracts gave League an absurd deal.

League as the closer is not a good scenario. Best case is Jensen is back as a closer, worst case is League is still closing in the second half. You're right, realistically, League will lose the job.

League becoming a lockdown closer, not buying on that.

I read an article about having Jensen as the set up is the best thing because usually those guys come in during the 7th in tough situations to shut things down and honestly I rather have Jensen come in with 1 out and 2 on cause he can get the K's that are needed I really don't see league being that dude, at least in the 9th it's a fresh start

It was one of those "closers are overrated" articles, which had some valid points. Unfortunately when you don't have a solid closer you are faced with situations like Friday night. I know it's an exhibition game, but League couldn't get out of the inning, you can't go to Jensen since you used him already. Ball was handed to Paco Rodriguez, an unproven rookie. In an exhibition game, no one cares, in a regular season game it wont fly.
