If ya'll would have actually hired him after u saying that we were going to end up with him prior to hiring Harbaugh

The good thing about Helton being such a disaster is that at least it'll be over after this season.  I was worried during the Hoke era that he was just going to be mediocre enough to keep his job.

yall's situation reminds a lot of Michigan pre-Harbaugh.

hope we get blessed with a coach like you guys did. :smokin

I don't look at it as "at least it'll be over after this season" like some do. They wasted a year on an obvious poor hire, and actually dug themselves an even bigger hole. The Helton hire just wasn't necessary and made absolutely zero sense. ZERO sense.

What makes me sick is those USC fans who were good with the hire are now jumping off that bandwagon.

USC! [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji] we stink!

Shrug.

Writer confirmed that SC put out feelers to Tom Herman (one way convo right now) and Lynn Swann gave Helton the talk.

Dunno if tonight's game will be viewed as a positive or negative. Offense looked good.

Defensive play calling at the end looked awful. They're running right up the middle on 3rd and 4th every time, but you never put the team in a big front all game?

trash. Thats a top 3 corner in the nation? Nah. His stock fell big time. 3 inches too short. Has the talent but just too small. Will be food in the pro's.

This is who you wanted Trojan fans. Don't jump off the Helton bandwagon.

hire a terrible interim coach, breh.

:rollin :rollin

Its coming, but not yet. Easy part of the schedule comes up here. No point in firing him with so much season left. No coach will be able to have serious discussions with the Trojans. And anyway that can isn't worth it.

$10M at Hermann, make it happen Lynn. Real easy decision.

Just realized Justin Davis only got 10 carries 12 yards a carry then stopped getting the ball for Rojo who had 8 carries 15 yards.

:lol

just noticed that as well. Very Kiffin like. He should be heated.

Rojo just isn't into football this year. He plays like he hates it. Almost seems like Ware's gone take his spot.

McClure would be a fool not to come to USC. Easy road ahead for him if he joins.

"Helton on why we didn't really see Justin Davis in the fourth, "We mixed the backs."

So it wasn't an injury issue."

its the head coach's job to tell Tee "WTF are you doing? Where is Davis?" Yeah, lets mix it up and leave the hot hand and go with someone who's been in a slump all season and plays like he doesn't even care.

This dude couldnt even make the obvious choice and name Darnold the starter coming out of camp because he didn't want to risk losing Browne. He did Browne dirty, for obvious selfish reasons. Better to have Browne sticking around rather than having Jalen Greene and Matt Finks as your back ups. He hedged his bets but screwed a kid.

I'm a believer its too early in the season to fire your coach when its going to be hard to talk with potential candidates, but the more i think about it, the more I believe Swann needs to make it happen. Don't let them lose to Colorado in two weeks.

I'll make one note on what you said, that I don't think is true:

I don't think Helton named Max the starter so he wouldn't transfer. It's worse than that.

Literally every asst coach and reporter said Sam was the better QB in the fall and all of the assistants, especially Tee and Tyson wanted Sam to get the job.

Clay recruited Max with Kiffin and was Max's biggest fan coming out of college and during his time at SC. HE was the only coach that wanted Max to start because he wanted to run a power run, pro style offense where as Tee and Tyson want to go full run-pss option spread.

Max was the leader coming out of the spring so it made no sense to name Sam thebstarter then but at the end of the fall camp when it was clear what the offense was he should have given him an opportunity to move on. Move on to where in September with no offseason training with the new team, idk.

But Clay wanted Max to start and really still does.

That's scarier. It's obvious they designed the offense around Sam, Jalen, and the type of kids they're recruiting now but Helton still stubbornly hose Max even though he was doomed to fail by no fault of his own.

They tried to put a statue in as quarterback in the Ohio State offense.
