Nice, I'm glad I wasn't a part of that summer jam screen.. I wasn't initially on the towns train but by the end of his year at Kentucky I was all aboard

Trying to see where the experts "project" his defensive potential
I'm quite sure somebody will come in with an advanced stat stating on the second Saturday of the month on a back to back with 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter Towns in a elite defender with a 4.0 WAR and 38.4 PER but hey what do I know.
I'll just keep watching Kristaps do things never done before in the NBA or since Shaq also with Melo holding him back from reaching his potential.

Not that the Knicks are a great system and culture but they do have veterans
You swap zinger to the wolves for kat and I honestly wonder what they'd both look like
Wolves IMO would still be a dumpster fire with zinger putting up similar numbers, Knicks on the other hand probably hover around the same record as well
Still think kat has the edge but zinger proved a lot to me

I'll reiterate again the gap if their is one is small
KAT is bigger and stronger and has a far superior post game and rebounding ability and already has the superstar respect from the officials
KP plays a more perimeter oriented game and is the better shooter and rim protector. Also is a 2nd/1st/3rd option depending on the night meanwhile KAT is the bonafide man in Minnesota.
I'm still waiting for you to explain why he's better and it's not even close

You and the rest of the people that make weird posts like the one I quoted
Anyway, the only argument for KP not being CLOSE to KAT is based on last year. Last year KP looked great but the production just wasn't there consistently. Now its totally different. Hard to argue he's really better at anything outside of rebounding this year.
However, KP is in a nice role as the 3rd option basically and doesn't need to create too much for himself. KAT doesn't have that luxury on offense. No excuse for the defense though - KP is just a freak on that end.

Towns also plays with two other players that averages 20PPG. He has the supporting cast but for whatever reason it doesn't translate to W's.
KP fell off a cliff second half of his rookie season and people still act like he's that same player.

Take KAT and KP off each of their teams, it's pretty clear which one is better. Having 2 20pt scorers next to KAT that don't pass doesn't change that.
