Official 2015 NFL Draft Thread

MM8 is one of those college dudes that looks good when everything is going right and we saw it last night. Jameis showed all year he can carry his team.

Jameis carried his team with the help of the best WR in FSU history on paper and a beast TE in Oleary

exactly what weapons did MM8 have last night in the air?

MM8 did good for what he had last night he almost threw for 400 yards still

He is very smart and has a high football IQ so he will pick up things fast but he has to sit or else he will be doomed from the gate

Mariota to the Patriots would be the perfect situation! He fits the character of those guys and he can learn from Tom and wont be pressured to play year 1,2, and 3

Jameis was bailing that team out all year coming from behind. Last year he had KB and O'Leary this year he had just O'Leary. MM8 supporting cast through out the year was clearly better than what Jameis had and that Oregon system has made almost everybody look good. MM8 weapons didn't show up last night cuz they was getting hit. Jameis was dealing with that all year. I'm not tryna pile on MM8 like a lot people are today but he's just that special to me.

I hope all this MM8 slander helps him drop to a tradable spot for the Eagles :hat

yup

Slander has slyly become an overused word on NT. And misused. :lol

To slander someone is to make false statements about someone that potentially damage their reputation. Nothing that people are saying is false. At least, not what I said about Mariota.

This. Nobody with any sense is saying he's a bum or he can't play. He's just not top pick worthy.

not really..

foles and sanchez were both just bad this year.. pretty much all of us want mariota, if we can get him without having to trade away our next 3 drafts

like people saying he can't throw a deep ball or he only hits wide open receivers? that's slander because it's false

"he's nothing special" would certainly imply he can't play at the next level

Nah. I've seen Eagles fans on her talk about RG3, Cam and MM8 but whatever.

only Eagles comments I have seen about RG3 is they would want him to compete for the job in camp

Cam over Foles and Sanchez with Chip Kelly, only an idiot wouldn't want that

Chip's prized hand selected Heisman QB? see above

we have no clue if either RG3 or CAM will be available.. and then there would have to be a consideration of price..

I'd love to get a look at cam or RG3 with the eagles (hell both.. because I still think rg3 can be salvaged).. but again, it's all a matter of cost

same goes for mariota

again, our current options are: foles, sanchez and matt barkley

Who is saying that?

I haven't seen anyone say he "can't" throw a deep ball, but I know that I have mentioned the open receivers, and that is a legit concern. Because I haven't seen him throw a receiver open, or put the ball between multiple defenders like what he'll be asked to do next level, so the wide open receivers do become a cause for concern, do they not?

The first TD, the big drop by Stanford, and the 70 yarder all had something in common.

Lonely *** receivers. :lol

It's not slanderous to bring it up. Nitpicking? Maybe. But not slander.

If Matt Jones can get drafted to a completely different position in the first round based off of athleticism and and a good showing at the combine, there is hope for Cardale.

I think he's as good as gone. Dude is obviously raw...but he's 22 and has other needs. If he can show out with his workouts etc., I do think there will be a gm/coaching staff who would be willing to take a risk in the 20-30 range.

how is that even close to the same thing?

How is it not? Jones had ZERO reps at WR in college, but parlayed a STRONG combine into being selected in the 1st round.

Stranger things have happened, and it's crazy to think he won't have a shot at being a first round pick if he shows out in his workouts.

Garrett Grayson is going to be this year's random *** riser at QB that goes end of 1st-early 2nd round.

All I know is that Lovie has probably four available options for his *** to salvage his coaching career....Jameis, Rivers, RG3 or Cutler. There's no way he can go out there this year without either drafting Jameis or trading for one of those guys. The guy just finished with the worst record in the league with a team with two beast receivers, a vet QB that he hand picked and a lot of other talent on both sides of the ball in what was this year's worst division in the NFL. I wouldn't particularly want Cutler but I guess the three of those experienced QB's would be intriguing at the least. I don't think he'll ever get an NFL head coaching job again if he goes out there again next year with a crap record. The Glazers don't play around....he will be fired next year if he doesn't get probably 9 wins at the very least.

RG3 isn't leaving DC until after this season. Kirk's available, though.

^ Good article and made me want to post something up.

I understand he may have flaws, but how many of MM8's problems are because of the "system"?

Hear me out for a few: Outside of Huff (who was a 3rd rounder) and DAT (who was drafted as a damn specialist)... how many receivers that played with MM8 will go on to amount to anything at the NFL level?

Look at Johnny - dude had Mike Evans to throw it up to whenever he needed. Crab Legs had KB and Rashad Greene. Cardale had Smith and Marshall (not to mention Elliott). Didn't RGIII play with a couple first rounders? Kendall Wright and uhhh someone else? Not taking down about the skill of any of these guys, it's just something I've seen over the last couple years.

Who the hell does MM8 have? A bunch of 6' and sub 6' dudes to work with. His stud TE got his knee blown out, he only had Lyerla to work his magic with one year, and his best 'big receiver' plays like a pansy. The two dudes he did work with this year? A convert from RB (Marshall) and a track star (Allen). Outside of that, a whole slew of guys who are decent to average at best, half of which we lost to various injuries. Thank the heavens for the RB corps we have.

The entire Oregon system is about moving the ball as quickly up and down the field as possible. It's all about creating open receivers and mismatches. Going through reads and if the easy play is there -- take it. The only knock that worries me more than anything is the accuracy, but once again, is that his guys he's throwing to? Is it because everything is moving so fast that he's feeling the need to hurry hurry hurry all the time? Does the "next man up" mentality at Oregon really not work? If that was Pharoah Brown in the slot instead of Baylis, would it have been an overthrow? Things like that just make me wonder.

I know he needs work and most likely will (unfortunately) be a Day 1 starter, but I can't wait to see the guy with legit NFL talent around him. If TB takes him, nothing but 6'4" and up bodies for him to throw to. Even if he isn't able to squeeze it into those windows at the start, Evans and them should help. Gets drafted by a team like the Titans and ehhh... who knows what'll happen there.

The guy ain't Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning, but FFS, he ain't Jake Locker either. Tannehill played all of two dozen games at QB in college and he's doing well enough down in Miami.

So much of me wishes NO could get him as Drew's heir. Learn from the man for a year or two and when he's ready to hand it over, you've got a great coach in Payton to work with.
