Miami's Clive Walford met with 15 teams at the combine, and Maxx Williams met with 9.
I don't usually compare visits as it relates to interest in a player, but is it possible Walford will be the first tight end of the board and not Williams, who was viewed as a first-round pick early on? At least one NFL scout is on record in the Washington Post saying he was turned off by the confidence Maxx Williams had in his combine interview with whatever team the anonymous scout works for.
Have we ever heard of that before? We've heard of players being called cocky after first impressions, unprepared, disinterested, etc., but "too much confidence" is not typically a negative, except in this case. What the hell was he wielding in that interview?
