Even though he didn't officially become a fan till recently shoeking knows his basketball and is one of the better fans on here

Wish I could say the same about myself

And I think THAT is a copout used by people who have themself convinced that they earned all of their good things.

"Good things happen if you pull yourself up by your bootstraps" is a cop out for people who don't realize that not everyone even has boots.

How hard did Kobe work to acquire Shaq? How smart was Kobe to fire Del Harris and bring in Phil Jackson? Why wasn't John Stockton just as smart? Did he not study hard enough to attain the intelligence it takes to acquire Phil?

"Create your own luck" is a cop out that comes from our culture's elitist desire to believe that all of their good things are self-earned.
Of course I am luckyer than a lot of people and a lot of people are way better off than me. But I'm going to be greater than a lot of those people born with more than I did and it won't be because of luck. Sure luck exists but to constantly acknowledge it takes away from time you could be using to get ahead. Life is all about confidence
Worldviews shouldn't be formed on the experience if one, though, and especially not one's own self.

"The lessons I've learned from my experience apply to everyone" is incredibly naive and shortsighted. Realizing that not everyone has anything close to the same experience is far more wise. :)

Magic came into a team with HOFers and championship expectations; Anthony Davis... ummmm... Anthony Davis didn't. :lol AD can work hard to better himself and his team, but there is no amount of hard work he could have done to have come into a team with say KD, CP3, and Tim Duncan, coached by Pop.

Magic coming into that wasn't luck (I don't believe in luck), but AD not having a championship by now because he DIDN'T come into that sort of team, that's not his fault for not working hard enough on that.

just fax b...

but do you pleighboi.
I don't see why you here talking to others about when I became a fan of the Clippers. I honestly didn't know it mattered to you. I don't get it honestly lol

but then again I never understood why sports culture cares so much about the whole bandwagoning thing and how people choose to root for their teams and what not, as if one is a "better fan?" because you been riding longer lol but i'm over it

He's right. AI's handle was solid, but his quickness was his biggest asset. He didn't have the ball on a string the way Kyrie and Steph do. Only older school player I can think of that had that kind of handle is Isiah.
AI was the definition of having the ball on a string :lol this is crazy to me. Yall forgot just that quick :{ if I wasn't on mobile id post vids. Gimme some time

I still don't think the Heat are done. LeBron left the squad in flux for this season, but they still have enough championship pedigree to pull in some more pieces. I think Spo has to go though, they need more balanced coaching.

Rookies should be able to freely pick where they want to play

Forcing them to get drafted is borderline communism

I mean, sports at the root of it, at least being a fan, is that you're loyal. You don't just jump ship to another team. This is just my opinion

In YOUR CASE you freaking work for them so it's completely different you shouldn't get any flack for that

Also shoutout to my boy kobe for creating his own destiny and forcing himself to the lakers on draft night

Who says you can't make your own luck

Yall think Bron got another all time great performance left in him for tonight?

It is pretty silly. At the end of the day, anybody who is a Kobe fan, and tells you they wouldn care for him if he packed his stuff and went to the Jazz or the 76ers in his prime, is lying out of their teeth.

thats a good opinion.

Also, Lebron and Bosh joining the heat will be remembered as the turning point of the NBA for this decade, and ushered in a new era for the NBA and it's casual viewer.
Wait who got banned? This is like one of those huge movie shootouts where the only casualty is the random civilian in the background
Legit loled. :rollin

(No one got banned, but someone was escorted away from the Hawks table. ;) )

The first 4 games he's shot the ball in the 30%s, his lowest since '07 finals. You KNOW he's aware of that too :lol

he turned around in game 5 and I think he does it again tonight.

So, is anyone going to give Harrison Barnes credit for how well he's played in this series? I remember a lot of people were critical of him throughout the season. He's probably been their 2nd best player throughout this series when it comes to consistency and his defense.

And you have every right not to. You're a Laker fan. There's nothing wrong with that. But if someone is a fan of LAL because of Kobe, then isn't a fan of LAL once he leaves and retires, who cares

? People get so giddy to point out a bandwagoner lol
