Because Sarkisian had every won anything more than 8 games before getting the SC job.

It doesn't keep him away from anyone who was legitimately interested and were going to offer him a big gig
USC was going to offer more than that anyway as a starting point. It makes it less of a financial loss if he decides he can compete for a championship in the future with Houston, but the Cougars aren't going to join a Power 5 in the next two years so I don't see how a coach with huge aspirations could see them as a destination.
He's a hot name right now. If Houston regresses and wins 7-8 games next year Texas, USC, and LSU(?) probably won't be knocking.
Miami might.
The difference between us and USC fans is that we acknowledge our mediocrity. They act like Leinart is still handing the ball off to Bush on Saturdays.
You know nothing Jon Snow.

I was half-joking but since you want to get into it:
1. Kiffin and Sark are USC alums/coordinators and both friends of Haden. He hired them for his own bureaucratic power hungry reasons.
Herman is an outsider. An outsider from a mid-major. An outsider with 7-8 wins isn't winning Haden any points or influence. There'd be no incentive to make that hire.
2. USC is mediocre? We finished 5th 4 years ago, and beat a top 5 team 4 weeks ago.
When's the last time Miami has done either of those things?
I'll wait.
Our mediocrity is finishing the season ranked with multiple victories over top 25 teams. YOUR mediocrity is akin to Wake Forest's (except not even really since they've actually won their division in the past 15 years.)
Don't put Miami and USC in the same breath.
Even when responding to a jest.
The battle for mediocrity continues...right after this commercial break
The battle for mediocrity continues...right after this commercial breakright? He's trying to make this a **** measuring contest. I'm conceding that we suck. That was my point, and he's proving it by trying to convince us that USC is still relevant when they're really just the Georgia of the West Coast.
. Same ding dongs beating the same old drum..
As tumultuous as it has been, you know sanctions and coaching changes. Good to know this is about as bad as it's going to get.
We are probably the most relevant irrelevant team in CFB.
Lets be real now, worst sanctions since SMU and we are still not Miami bad.
Georgia of the west coast, that the best you can do.
Georgia of the West Coast with 2 national championships this decade? And Oregon fans agreeing?they're really just the Georgia of the West Coast.
Miami fans only exist behind a keyboard and a computer screen. We know damn well they don't have any real life fans.
