OFFICIAL 2015-2016 College Football Season Thread

This is a random question, but what the hell happened the University of Colorado football program? They were pretty good in the early 90's going to the Fiesta Bowl a couple times. Won the Big 12 north a couple times. Since about 2006 when they hired Hawkins they have been a dumpster fire. I feel like they should be better than what they are. Good campus in a decent location. If schools can get kids to live in Waco, Boise, or Starkville, surely they can get kids to live in Boulder for 4 years?

Bad coaches, school intentionally decreasing support to take attention away from the team following the rape incidents and violations. The right coach would be able to reignite the team. They play hard and have a lot of 3 stars and some Pac12 cast off 4 stars. Shay Fields is solid.

Truth be told Herman would prob flourish there.

Herman can flourish here too :)

@10508 Cardo Jr Ln How do you feel about Mark Richt being on the hot seat?

To everyone else:

Better job assuming they come open - UTk, UGA or USC

1. UGA 2. USCw 3.UTk between those 3 but I think USCe is a better job than Texas as far as competing immediately.

I'm starting to read some Charlie might listen to Miami too so I'll say this, if he does quit on UT and bets on himself by taking the Miami that's gonna be a stain that follows him the rest of his career.

And I hope it works out for him, if that happens.

If it works and he builds a winning program, the stain will go away. See Nick Saban.

Who are the exact candidates for the SC job besides Herman I can't really pinpoint anybody.

The only non big name candidate seriously getting considered is Herman but only because of the Playoff championship and current undefeated season and he's an impressive interview/recruiter (rumor is they've spoken to him already.)

Justin Fuente is a candidate but no chance he gets it. The pressure is too high on Haden to make a splash or hire a sure thing.

Jon Harbaugh is a very real candidate but it would be dependent on him quitting Baltimore because they won't fire him this year.

Whittingham wants the gig but he prob lost himself the job last week.

Jeff Fisher will always be interested and I weep over that.

It's gonna be Harbaugh, Herman, Whittingham or an NFL coordinator like Ken Norton.

I just hope we retain Tee. He's essential for recruiting and continuity.

And essentially no one holds Saban's NFL failure against him. College is different. This is also assuming Miami operates the way Alabama does.

You don't speak to a lot of Dolphins fans, then.

It's hindisght sure, but he chose Culpepper over Brees. They still talk about it.

Harbaugh is a legitimate candidate in that USC reached out to him to gauge interest and while Harbaugh put out that statement saying he wasn't interested there's clearly something that makes SC admins think he can be convinced. I don't know if it's because his agent reached out first or what. We won't know until December/January.

I don't think SC said no to Herman? I think they're just doing their due diligence first. But there's been contact there. I, and others, are concerned Haden won't hire a guy he doesn't know especially from a mid major. He's pretty boring and unimaginative.

Also forgot to mention some boosters want Bob Stoops and think he can be lured. Idk how I feel about that if it turned out to be realistic.

Honestly I think how Houston, Memphis, Utah and other schools finish out will determine a lot. The greater fan base is slowly hopping on the Herman train now as well.

Coach Mac is doing some good thighs with the program. I really hope he doesn't get fired after this year. He has some of the worst recruiting classes ever from his predecessor. CU is in the bottom of the PC12 with junior and senior starters. Their point differential has been getting closer to zero every season. There is a lot of progress happening with the team. We are also building new facilities. I think the program will be decent next year, and hopefully in a couple it will be in the top of the league.

WHAT MAKES GREG WARD JR. COLLEGE FOOTBALL’S BEST DUAL-THREAT QB

When was the last time you saw a successful 5-11, 178-pound quarterback? Greg Ward Jr. currently has the Houston Cougars undefeated, and sits in the top five of PFF’s college quarterback grades at this point in the season.

Ward is one of the most unique players in the nation, and he has been more than just a wide out playing quarterback for Houston this season — he projects to be a dynamic playmaker at any level.

Let’s take a look at what Ward can do for Houston over the rest of the season, and where his NFL future may ultimately lie.

@Notre Dame. Remind me, who have they beat?

Two 1 loss teams in the Top 5 is a joke.

Notre Dame beat ranked Temple and GT

Bama beat ranked A&M, UGA, and Wisconsin

Baylor and TCU haven't beat a single ranked team yet. It makes sense. If either of them win out I think they get in by default just cause everyone ahead of them still have to play each other.

Committee looks to be emphasizing quality wins to this point. You listening Art Briles? Not that this inital poll really means much.
