I don't know the guy, but doubt it. It's a business, first. He's still raking in bread, new stadium with renovations. With all the money that he pours into Michigan, it's clear that he's passionate about that.He also has a franchise with his name on it. The mediocre results we see year after year from the Miami Dolphins are a reflection of his competency as an owner. Don't you think that eats at billionaire types like Ross? Don't you think he would do anything in his power to turn things around and put him in the best position possible to hold up that Lombardi?Stephen Ross is the biggest athletic donor at U of M. If he wanted Harbaugh, then he would've done it this past offseason. He's not going to cherrypick him from Ann Arbor. He fits the college game so much better IMO. His personality is not built to have guys under him for 7-8 years. 3-5 years and out with younger, impressionable guys is perfect. Kids seem like they're hanging on every word that comes out of his mouth right now.
Definitely not leaving after 2 years anyways.
Very true.. But I could see Dolphins owner opening up the vault in a couple years
That's an interesting idea. He lets his school get Harbaugh for a few years, then gets first dibs at him back in the NFL.
Only problem with that is you can't really plan to hire someone with the idea that you'll let them go as soon as another coach hints at coming for the NFL.
