OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

Thanks guys, didn't mean to take Matt Ryan (was going to take Golden Tate but didn't click in time), but maybe I can turn one of my RBs into a trade piece for WR depth

So Yahoo messed up my Auction Keeper league draft tonight. We were supposed so draft at 8pm, but they had some sort of technical difficulties. After scrambling - apparently they fixed the issues so we started out Auction draft at 9:15. Didn't finish till well after midnight.

man, an auction league is no joke.

this was my first one ever...yikes...I made a few mistakes, got a handful of players i wanted but this is not for the faint of heart.

whoa

Did a draft today where Eddie Lacy fell to me at the 12th pick.

Here's the squad. 12 team standard league

QB: Brady
WR: D. Thomas, VJax
RB: Lacy, Gerhart
TE: Rudolph
Flex: TY Hilton
K: Gano
Def: Arizona

Bench
Anquan Boldin, Tony Romo, Jeremy Hill, D. Bowe, M. Bennett, & Eric Ebron

My starters. Any thoughts? WR2 is very weak.

12 teams not ppr

That's (potentially) a very good starting lineup to me, even with a shaky WR2 situation. If Gore can stay healthy, that'll mitigate the effect of the aforementioned considerably. Cameron will also pick up quite a bit of that slack, in all likelihood. I think you get more of '13 Rivers this season opposed to the '12 version as well.

Bench has some breakout potential in Hunter/Hyde, which is always a good thing. Can't argue against DMc as a 4th/5th back, Smitty will be serviceable, even if unspectacular, IMO. Another 1000 yd year for Harry if Roddy and/or Julio go down again. Would've gone Hillman over Anderson for now if it were possible due to Foxy's preference for veteran backs, but that's certainly a fluid situation behind Ball.

I like the team, man. Good mix of safe bets && potential sleepers/value picks.

considering its a standard league, the starters are good. i dont like that you have 3 TE's though, you only really need one in a standard

bye weeks are gonna be rough for you

yahoo gave me a b+ on my team...

i think its a strong team, dont like that i had to pick crabtree but he was the next best available WR without having to reach for anyone

spiller slipped so far, i had to take him

Spiller && Hill were some SERIOUS value picks. Nice.

Liking Pitta a lot this year too.

Feels like I'm telling everyone that I like their team, && it won't stop here. :lol It's a good squad, my man.

How do y'all like Russell Wilson this year as your starting QB? I ended up with him but feel like I need make a move for someone else. Several teams picked up 2 QBs but I'd like to grab Matt Ryan. That team also has Matthew Stafford. My squad is:

QB-Russell Wilson
RB1-Matt Forte
RB2-Andre Ellington
WR1-Dez Bryant
WR2-Antonio Brown
TE-Greg Olsen
FLEX-Cordarrelle Patterson
D/ST-New England
K-Blair Walsh

Bench
Joique Bell
Lamar Miller
Bernard Pierce
Terrance Williams
Riley Cooper
Brandin Cooks
Martellus Bennett

I think Wilson will be solid. Basically around the same stats as last year.

i think he'll be better this year. he has looked great in the pre-season thus far ( and yes i know its preseason)

his numbers should increase off the fact that he'll be throwing to a healthy Harvin ( could stay healthy all year, but who knows)

losing tate will hurt tremendously if harvin goes down. Wilson is a disciplined QB and doesnt seem to make too many mistakes, i have him in 2 leagues and i am banking on his mobility and improved passing threat in Harvin to give solid QB production

Had my last 2 drafts of the season last night. Happy with both of my teams but kinda sick that draft season is over :lol. Here's how they turned out.

Team 1: 12 teams, PPR, 4 points per pass TD, standard roster. Had 9th overall pick in a snake draft.

QB - Carson Palmer (18)
RB1 - Eddie Lacy (1)
RB2 - Toby Gerhart (6)
WR1 - Brandon Marshall (2)
WR2 - Roddy White (4)
FLEX - Michael Floyd (5)
TE - Rob Gronkowski (3)
D/ST - Bills (16)
K - Nate Freese (17)
Bench - Golden Tate (7), Lamar Miller (8 ), Carlos Hyde (9), Jordan Reed (10), Jordan Matthews (11), James White (12), Cody Latimer (13), John Brown (14), Kenny Britt (15).

Very happy with this team. Couldn't believe Lacy fell to me at 9. Really like my depth all around. Not sure if I wanna go with Floyd/Tate/or Reed in the Flex. Also, everyone was going nuts drafting backup QBs within 2-3 rounds of drafting their starter so I opted to wait until the LAST round to grab mine :lol. Not mad about getting Palmer at all.

Team 2: 12 teams, PPR, 6 points per pass TD, 3 WR, 2 Flex. Keeper league. Auction draft, $260 budget.

QB - Alex Smith ($1)
RB1 - Shane Vereen ($31)
RB2 - Fred Jackson ($6)
WR1 - Julio Jones ($55)
WR2 - Alshon Jeffery ($43)
WR3 - Andre Johnson ($26)
FLEX1 - Golden Tate ($16)
FLEX2 - Jordan Matthews ($14)
TE - Heath Miller ($6)
D/ST - Browns ($1)
K - Cody Parkey ($1)
Bench - Bishop Sankey ($24), Jeremy Hill ($6), Darren McFadden ($2), Devonta Freeman ($6), John Brown ($1), Marquise Lee ($5), Blake Bortles ($1)

Happy with this team too. My plan pre-draft was to solidify my WRs before anything else, since it's PPR with a mandatory 3 and possibly 5 starters. I think I did that. I knew that spending big on my WRs would leave me with a less-than-optimal amount of money for my RBs, but I'm happy I was able to get Vereen. Hopefully FJax can score as many TDs as last year :lol. Was hoping to land Pierre Thomas as my RB2 but Yahoo auto-drafted Bishop Sankey for me after I left the draft for like 10 seconds :{ :{. Wasn't happy with that at all. At this point I just gotta hope he'll be a good keeper for next year at $24. Happy with my depth otherwise, and love some of the prices I got the rookies at if they turn out to be keeper-worthy.
