Larry Bird has a playoff average of 24, 10 and 6.5.Fair enough, although I put Kobe's rings on the same level as Magic and Larry (It's not like they were playing with bums. Although they were undeniable leaders on their teams, they also had a plethora of HoF'ers as teammates)What you don't realize is that his 5 rings aren't held to the same level to that of Magic, Larry, & Michael because they were the undeniable leaders of each one of those championship teams.
Then when you look at the fact that individually, outside of scoring, his achievements don't compare. Take MVP's Magic 5, Michael 5, Larry 3 (in a row, the only player to every win 3 straight)
And as far as accomplishments go, I was always under the assumption that rings weighed the most in that regard. 5 rings (during the 3 peat run, scoring averages of 21, 29 and 27 in those playoff runs) with a career line of 26 5 5 > What Larry and Magic have done IMO.
really? youd rather have won what every player plays for 4 times over 5? really? because of having 1 less finals mvp? because you were not 'the man'?
Thiscomparing players across eras is pointless. the game isn't the same
What's wrong with what I said?
I'm from Pittsburghthis is ******ed.
people from LA will say Kobe>>
people from SA will say Tim>>
People from Boston will say Bird>>
I'm fortunate enough to have lived in LA while being a die hard Kobe fan in LA between 1999 to 2012 so obviously I'm bias. Same goes for someone in San Antonio that lived there from 1998 to 2008 etc.

Yes
Like I said, when comparing great players I put the rings on the highest of pedestals and Kobe has 5 rings, 30k plus points, 2 finals mvps, and 2 scoring titles, & 5 ASG MVP's for good measure. That triumphs what Shaq has done to me, and Bryant isn't even finished.
Did you really just bring ASG MVPs in this discussion? it's fine, i just won't take anything you say seriously anymore.really? youd rather have won what every player plays for 4 times over 5? really? because of having 1 less finals mvp? because you were not 'the man'?

This is why I despise the Lakers and anyone who supports them.

Goodness know I have my issues with some Lakers fans, but they're not all Kobe stans. Most people that were Lakers fans before 1999 are pretty reasonable (except for feeling entitled to every superstar player that may be available). I doubt a majority of Lakers fans that are over age 30 will insist Kobe is the GOAT or even top 5.
