Safe to say Kobe is the cause of the downfall of LA? Dude wont take a pay cut, not the best teamate, selfish, and wont lose in order to get draft picks.

does anyone remember a Jerry "Triple J" Johnson? im out here in the PI and following the FIBA Asia championships. He plays for the Kazakhstan national team. i googled him, apparently he made it to Clippers training camp in 06 before being the last cut?
also, Jarvis Hayes is in Asia playing for Qatar. and former Lakers draft pick Marcus Douthit has been a mainstay for the PI national team
edit: also, he's been injured but when healthy Yi Jianlian has been tearing it up for China. I guess all that practice posting up chairs is finally paying off

Even if the Lakers don't make the playoffs they aren't gonna be THAT bad so you'd be looking at like the 14th pick in the draft rather than the 17th. The draft has been rigged many times before but I don't think a team has ever climbed up that high for a top 3 pick.
And you guys got me there...the Sixers, Kings and Suns rosters are definitely worse than the Wizards. Hooray.
The Cavs finished like 3 games back from the Wizards while Kyrie missed a **** ton of games, Varejao missed basically the whole season and they're adding Bynum, Jarrett Jack, Earl Clark and Anthony Bennett. They're also bringing Thompson and Zeller off the bench...that's an extremely good front court rotation.

^How many times do people have to tell you that you CANNOT take a pay-cut in the NBA?
Blame the CBA or Stern. But players cannot change their contracts.
After this year, when Kobe's contract is done, THEN he can take a pay-cut and accept a new contract with less money than his current.
Right now, until someone is a free agent you cant touch your contract.

I think the Lakers will be in the 8-12 range of the lottery. Maybe they creep a bit higher if Kobe doesn't play well and Pau/Nash get injured again.

A healthy Nash, Pau, and Kobe, is still good enough for a 5th to 7th seed in the West. If healthy, LAL makes the playoffs.
