OFFICIAL 2013 FANTASY FOOTBALL TALK

For the future, here's something I learned a few years ago on using the WW.

Often you will need to put in multiple waiver requests for the same player to optimize your waiver strategy and carefully plan the order. For example let's say there are 3 players you are interested in off waivers we will call them W1, W2, and W3 for simplicity with W1 being the most desirable. Let's say you only have two guys you are willing to drop, we'll call them D1 and D2, with D1 being the first guy you want to drop and D2 being a guy you'd rather keep if you can only get one waiver guy. Your waiver request should go like this:
  1. Add W1 drop D1
  2. Add W2 drop D1
  3. Add W3 drop D1
  4. Add W2 drop D2
  5. Add W3 drop D2
The first time it goes through the waiver list it will try to add W1 if available, if he's gone it will try to add W2, and if he is unavailable it will add W3 and in any of the cases D1 will get dropped. If all 3 are gone before it gets to you then you don't drop anyone. Then the second time through the list D1 is already dropped so the first 3 options are not possible so it will start with option 4 checking to see if W2 is available and if he is he will be added to your team and if not it will check for W3. If either are added it will drop D2. If none of them are available then D2 stays on your team. The possible outcomes are that you get two of the three guys you want and drop both D1 and D2, you get one of the three and only drop D1, or you get none of them and both D1 and D2 stay on your team.
That's exactly what I did, I just had the D/STs in the W2 and W3 slots and since I needed one this week and wasn't sure if my W2 would be available so I submitted ones for W3. I basically ended up with that first outcome where I got two of three guys I wanted. Very solid advice. Repped.

Is Stewart the best pickup with Bryce Brown, Ivory, Ingram, Goodson, and Bolden also available?

I know its a Thursday night game but im leaning even closer to starting Josh Gordon tonight. Buffalo has given up the most fantasy points to receivers and Hoyer has been playing well. Hope im right lol

PPR, Pick 2 (WR + Flex)- Hilton, Gio, Joique Bell (I have Reggie), Lamar Miller, Thompkins or Gordon.

Just traded Spiller for Tom Brady, in a 12 team with standard Yahoo scoring except for .5 rec and 6pts passing td's.

Anybody care to tell me if I did the right/wrong thing? I'm left with the Election 2000 duo (Bush/Gore) to man my RB1 & 2 slots...

Thanks.

Who's your RB3? And who's your backup QB?

What do your RBs and WRs currently look like? Do you have a solid backup QB?
My Back Up is Russell Wilson who has been pretty average at best this season

My RBS

CJ2k

Spiller

Giovanni Bernard

WR

Pierre Garcon

Antonio Brown

Marlon Brown

Roddy White

I'd do it, the Patriots are getting healthy again soon and Peyton can't keep up those exact numbers all season.

Cutler...

RB3 is a prayer that Bush and Gore stay healthy... also have Kendall Hunter, and Blount and stashing Stewart

I'll probably hit the trade market again for another rb using either Welker or Decker or Wayne.

Was Just Offered:

Brady

Aj Green

Shady McCoy

for my

Peyton Manning
Looking at the rest of the roster, I'd say Peyton has won you 4 games and this is as probably as high you could sell him for considering what you are getting in return.

Something to think about.

This is how I look at trades: Are the points you're losing by getting rid of Manning and switching to Brady/Wilson greater than, less than, or equal to the points you'll gain by making McCoy and AJ Green starters and replacing a current starter at RB and WR? Also the fact that Brady is primed for greater success should narrow the gap between him and Peyton slightly.

You guys think selling on Vincent Jackson now is a good idea? I don't see too much promise for him moving forward with Glennon as their qb.

I mentioned it earlier in this thread how I'm hurting for a TE so I'm thinking about trying to move him for V. Davis or Cameron. Both of those owners in this league also have T. Gonzalez n Gronk, respectively, so they may bite.

My other receivers are Torrey n Edelman, and I could start Bell or Greg Jennings at the flex or Wilson if he finally breaks out this week. Just want to make sure I'm not shooting myself in the foot here

Dont do it if your #2 wideout would become edelman. That would be awful if/when amendola can get his *** on the field.
Good call man, thanks. I'm gonna try to sell high on a edelman + bush to the bush owner for M.Bennet, his backup. Hopefully that goes through

That was pretty risky, but I think you got the better end of the deal.
