Not that we already didn't know, but Eli is exposed. We need a catcher who can catch and hit a little. He can't do both.

To be somewhat fair, Eli wasn't destined to be an everyday catcher for any club....he's a glorified back up whose unfortunately been tossed into the starer role. I mean, if we try and trade for someone, we're going to pay a premium, and I'm not sure it's worth it for us in the NL west.

It's not going to be a money issue, it's going to be every team knows what we need so we're going to be tossing in a prospect or player we don't really want to or wouldn't normally part with. Is it truly worth it to get an increase at CATCHER knowing for the most part Posey will be back next year or at least we'd have an offseason to acquire a FA? That's all I'm saying.
Using Pudge as an example, how much are you willing to give up for a catcher clearly in his twilight year. Sounds like a bandaid on a wound that needs surgery type of fix.

We may not need a catcher to win this division but to make noise in the postseason we are going to need a little more whether that is from the catcher or second base.
