the phillies weren't really established yet, they got swept by the rockies the year before and aside from beating the brewers in the 08 nlds, they hadn't made a name of themselves yet, and also no cliff lee either.
the dodgers were up 2-0 in game 1 through 6 innings before giving up 2 home runs
game 2 brett myers went 3 for 3 with 3 rbi's, which is something that wouldn't happen often
game 3 the dodgers win
game 4, the broxton screw up game
game 5 cole hammels shut them down.
game 4 and possibly game 1 could've been won in that series.
In 2009, it seemed like the phillies just had their way with them, the entire series. once they got to kershaw in game 1 it was downhill from there. the only game the dodgers won, they didn't look convincing in at all, and aside from game 4 philly smacked them around at home. hell even if broxton didn't blow that save in game 4. they go back to LA most likely down 3-2 facing cliff lee in game 6 and losing in 6.
2008 was their year to beat philly in my eyes.
