***OFFICIAL 2010 Australian Open Tournament Post*** Edit: Congrats to Federer, S. Williams

DAvy.

Bittersweet, I want Fed to win, but I also want Davy to get a slam too.

Fed's mental toughness is almost unparalleled in all of sports.

It's not enough that he's supremely talented; he just has to be completely in control of his emotions at all times, too. It's really unfair.

Let's go, Tsonga.

Coming into this tourney he was my dark-horse... he had been playing very well (looked great in Abu Dhabi, where he beat Rafa and Fed), so there was no reason why he couldn't go all the way.  All things considered (and minus sets 2 and 3), he played ok

 .  Oh well.

Surely you fools aren't still up watching Djoker vs. Ali Tsonga?

Tsonga getting back into it. Hope he can take this 1st set.

God this set is intense.

That first set had me on the edge of my seat trying not to wake up my family.

Another set sent into a tiebreaker. I feel bad for people missing this.

A wild day down under... Venus is out, while Serena (despite being down a set and 0-4 in the 2nd, and 2 injured legs) came back to win.  Fed played like #$^* in the 1st set but quickly found his forehand to take out Davy in 4.  Djoker goes up 2 sets to 1, but comes down with some mysterious stomach ailment and ends up losing in 5.  Strange.

Bend those knees when hitting a low ball...

I'm mad I had to sleep after the federer and Davyshanko match due to work. I hope they show the replay today of tsonga and djok

Man this Australia schedule is killing me. I couldn't stay up past the first set in the Tsonga/Djokovic match. They should show the replay today at 3pm est on ESPN2

Tsonga came back and won the first set?

I fell asleep when it was 5-2, Djoko, but judging by the scores, it looked like another nutty match.

Novak is a funny guy. We've seen this time and time again. He had such an easy draw this tournament until he ran into a great player in Tsonga, and then out come the injuries, sicknesses, whatever. b.s. Why wasn't he sick in any of his previous matches? Also he books to the locker room to "throw up" after Tsonga breaks him to go up 2-0 in the 4th set.  This guy plays mindgames to turn the momentum. His mentality is: When losing/feeling the pressure,, give up. At least he didn't retire this time and a true player like Tsonga beat him. I find it unfortunate that Novak's mental game and immaturity will keep him from being a number one player which he has the potential to be.

^^ pretty much were we're at with Andy Murray we're all willing him to make the breakthrough but he at times just doesnt seem to want it as much as we the fans do......

Too often we've seen him come up against a tough opponent and start well, dip, play better and then lose when he really should have won

His new more positive, more agressive style is an improvement though, the real test is can he get as up for it against Cillic as he was against Rafa????

Joker is a clown ... that serena match was crazy ... she was getting worked ... then she looked hurt ... then she started going for broke, then that 20 year old girl melted ...

fed murray final ... go fed ... get #16 and tease tiger about it

The guy always seems to have some physical ailment... I think we all know how he's been in the past, but this time it was really weird.  He was up 2 sets to 1, and only down 1 break in the 4th set, so it was by no means a bad position for him.  In all fairness, he did look rather pale during the 3rd set and onwards, so maybe he really was sick.  The timing of it all was just really odd.

In the past, no doubt, he played a lot of mindgames, but this time I'm gonna give him the benefit of a doubt simple because at that point in the match, he didn't need to play mindgames.  He also mentioned post-match that he had diarrhea and vomited the night before, but who really knows?

What an amazing get by Murray in that last game... he looked sluggish in the 1st set, but really stepped up his game afterwards...
