i hate when people say "2010 all over again". its 2014. we have phli jackson, its noted that melo and bron both wanna play together, there is an actual possibility that they both come to ny. and whats wrong with hoping for the best? i didnt say there was a 90% chance of it happening, but i'll take 1% over 0% any day.
aside from the pessimism that is the knicks thread...
if bosh decides to go to houston, bron isnt gonna stay. at least i dont think. he could force his way to nyk and they could do a sign and trade for bron to get the max and to take back amare and or bargs. theyre expiring contracts, so i dont think pat riley will really mind. obviously he'd rather have bron, but stat as a consolation prize, is better than nothing. hell, we can even let go of thjr if that situation became a reality.
its a loooooooooooooong shot, but imagine:
calderon - larkin
shump - jr/ellington/maybe still have thjr
bron - any of the above
melo - odom/tyler
gasol - dalembert
that would be amazing.
@SpearsNBAYahoo: Warriors free agent guard Jordan Crawford is receiving interest from Bulls, Mavs, Lakers, Knicks & Nets, the source said.

I think if philly takes amare and shump and sends back richardson we would have about 22 million in cap space (projected 62 million cap). We could sign Lebron with that and we have the bird rights to Melo so we could resign him. Longshot, but not impossible.
Its not even about my personal feelings for Amare. Or Bargnani. I think Amare can bounce back, and **** Bargs but he underratedly might be a decent fit in the triangle. However I see neither being a fit with this team long term (unless Amare wants to take a significant pay cut to come back), so if we needed to get rid of one or both of them I say go ahead of it.i met amare in person. cool chill guy. work ethic is admirable. beast when healthy
as much as i like him... moving him would be a major relief in our cap.
bargnani can go for all i care

Don't usually tell someone to shut up, but I'm close. There is a fine line between realism, pessimism, optimism, and retarted.
What if we dump Bargs too?I think if philly takes amare and shump and sends back richardson we would have about 22 million in cap space (projected 62 million cap). We could sign Lebron with that and we have the bird rights to Melo so we could resign him. Longshot, but not impossible.
Nope. Impossible.
Even if you traded Amar'e right now for nothing, you have $4mil in cap space.
Why? Because of Melo's Rights.
But you could have $26 mil in cap space, if you renounce Melo's rights. But then would have to split $13mil between Melo & LeBron.
Not gonna lie, I based all of this on my years of playing 2k Association mode.Nope. Go for it tough guy. Tell me to shut up in an Internet forum lol.
Anyway...bargs was semi decent. He scored pretty well, but couldn't defend for ****. Not a very good rebounder, but he did spread the floor. I think he would do well in the triangle if he could put more effort on D.

Didnt know they would have to renounce his rights even though they have his bird rights and can go over the cap to resgin him.
