You can't go wrong with a quality AR, everyone starts out as beginner.

No question the DD will be the superior rifle. DD makes one of the best ARs on the market today. Reliability on the topic of midlength vs carbine is very small. A big thing you really gain is a longer sight radius if you plan on shooting irons. Also look at Bravo Company Manufacturing (BCM) they make a great middy AR too.Originally Posted by Frank Mucus

Which would be more reliable. I think the DD has a midlength gas system.
Do some reading at Northeastshooters.com, and contact either Keith Langer or Jesse Cohen. Both are awesome firearms attorneys in MA, and can help you through the process. depending on what town you live in it can be a nightmare or a dream.Originally Posted by Solemate96

Also, I got charged with possession of marijuana. The gun charges were dropped on me because they realized the person who possessed the firearm. I'm now 24 and haven't had any legal issues ever since.
Is there any kind of information that people can give to me? I really want my LTC license here in Massachusetts but I'm afraid they're just going to look at my childish behavior when I was young.

Keep in mind all I'm going to be doing is taking it to the range and use it for home self defense if need be, but mostly just for taking it to the range. Also, when I was at the store they told me it was going to be at least 2 months until they receive a restock of the lightweight barrel for the Daniel Defense. Would that be a better option than the standard barrel? It's not like I'm going to be holding the rifle for hours or taking it to tactical classes or anything. Is it also possible to change the barrel from standard to lightweight in the future?
