NT's LEGAL Gun Thread UPDATE...First Youtube Firearm Review Page 61

Been showing the kiddo how to shoot. This was from her first time I took her out last year. Started with the 22 but in short time she was handling my 38 super with no issues.

Ive never lived in a state with a wait period but at the start of the pandemic i spent prolly 15k on AKs in 3 months haha... got delayed on a multi item purchase overnight but then it went through... ever since then i get approved everytime but its manually reviewed and it takes 45 min almost to the second everyyyyy time.

a PSA budget AR

good way to get started for around ~450

I woulda prolly sprung for one of their daily deal uppers with a mlok rail but that can come in the future or on build #2

yeah I thought about the M Lok upper but that OD Green was just so tempting. The one I was looking at didn’t come with a charging handle or bolt carrier group. So this was the best choice for me for my first AR.

I’m glad we’re savages in Ohio.

Apparently constitutional carry just passed so it’ll either get signed in or time out and become law.

We’ll see....

If I was in a 10rd state (i wouldn’t be) I’d cop a hi point carbine bullpup

The only thing I hate about it are the mags, which are 10rds lol

The 20 round mag is just two 10 rounders connected LMAO

I heard the recoil is ridiculous but

Lol relax man. She on her Fat Joe. Leanin back hah

But honestly 90% of female and first time shooters in general will do this. Its just natural hard wiring... face away from explosion. Same reason most newbies flinch and close their eyes

I should have brought an extra pair of drawls to the range today, skeet glands were erupting. Ran my Obsidian .45/Sandman S and Mask HD back to back to back, basically spent 6 hours at the range . The Obsidian and the .45 tac were straight sex, i put plumbers tape on the threads/white lithium grease on the piston like they suggest and it ran flawless. Didnt have time to run it on my 509 though.

The LWRC was a straight up pillow soft shooting with the can and gas block turned to suppressor setting, piston AR’s are for sure heaven with a can, blowback didnt sting my eyes once. The Mask was basically me laughing all day after shooting a mag of .22 suppressed, crazy quiet with subs and the normal stuff too. It was a glorious day brethren :nthat: 1E0E6467-1364-4C16-8E31-094C901B8760.jpeg BC67B151-E673-4AD1-A84B-441E98B8B84E.jpeg 8F21F94E-46F0-4E3B-BEF9-B97E38DE7507.jpeg D2795C0A-BC1F-4C71-B9EC-FC580085F5B7.jpeg A3D53B88-E70A-4FB4-9F41-E62824DB2D04.jpeg 58E88667-5362-4ACE-B4D4-DE94179AF8FD.jpeg

Can you basically run a can forever? I only want to go through that long *** wait once
Essentially yes, my philosophy is always buy once cry once, especially with something like a suppressor . The three I have all offer lifetime warranty’s through the manufacture so that’s a big piece of mind in terms of where you buy.

I’ve actually found the opposite

Newbs won’t know to flinch so they typically shoot super straight for the first mag or two then start flinching.

Closing the eyes is just something that happens, I’ve heard cans help.

id bet whatevers in my wallet your taking them somewhere private by yourself. at the public range they get startled by every shot on the way to their bay. i think thats what intiates the cortisol responses. sweaty hands. blinking. flinching etc

even ppl that shoot weekly or more if someone is poppin off a 7.5 inch braked AR will shudder, is a little bit of concussion really that bad? nah buy your body will do weird things.

At an outdoor range once I sat next to a dude sighting in a 450 with a giant brake and like 14 inch barrel lol it was some kinda specialized hiking hunting rig for the guy and he politlely informed me id wanna step back from my rest a second... i said how bad can it really be n told him it was cool...

anway the side blast blew targets off my tables. loose rounds off the table... i was anxious the rest of the day... for NO reason lol

Fire can’t wait til my obsidian 45 is out of purgatory…I went with the fde version…glad to hear the 45 tactical is smooth with it

You’re not wrong...

I took my lady to a private outdoor range in montana and dudes were shooting long range....she was defeated before she even tried....

I’m talking about the actual first shots....out of context....

It’s the phenomena of new shooters brains not knowing what/when to expect.

Typically those first shots will be dead center, then, as their brain starts to anticipate you’ll see the shots fall bottom left or high right from flinching.

Took that same lady to an indoor range here and she bullseyed the center chest at 25 feet.....(technically her second shot. First shot rang steel at 20 feet)

As we shot more, the groupings opened up.

She’s still very very very new but the unconscious flinches are starting

I thought it was BS myself until I started self-training the flinches out by prepping the trigger 80% by default...at first you’re purposely “accidentally” firing it. You wanna get an 80-85% draw by default so your brain can’t flinch during the 10%; it won’t have the time. Initially you’ll surprise yourself with rounds until you learn exactly where that 80-85% is

I noticed a huge reduction in flinching just with that technique.

It’s just a really weird phenomena that lasts like the first magazine, if that...

Outside of all th nerves and other shooters, etc.

First time "legal" gun owner checking in by way of the strict state of Massachusetts:smh: Here's my story...
-12/16/2021 applied for LTC, dropped off at local PD
-12/22/21 fingerprints taken. Was told Chief of Police will give the final word whether it's a yes or a No. (Massachusetts is a "may issue" state)
-1/24/22 LTC approved, Class A Unrestricted ready for pick up
-2/2/22 wanted a glock 19 gen 5 for edc, got a co worker (who is a FFL dealer) to order online, and run NCIS background check...DELAYED:angry:
-2/28/22 Background check finally CLEARED:smokin
-2/29/22 gun transferred/registered in my name
-3/1/22 gun ready for pickup
Unfortunately, Massachusetts has an active ban on weapons/magazines, so it's 10rnds mags until I come across a pre ban:nerd:

Hitting up the range tomorrow to see how well she does:pimp:
From time of applied to LTC in hand was quick. It took me 3.5 months last year! I’m from Lowell how about you? Good choice in first piece fam

Good looking out! I was expecting the wait time to take while due to the "pandemic". Just happy it came in a timely fashion. But that delay on background check for my glock did have me tight tho:smh: but it is what it is! I'm from Worcester my guy:nthat:
