Preferably something not directly linked to a checking account.

I'm looking at this bank out of Delaware apparently named Barclays. Just did a quick search from google & got to that site via bankrate.com.

What banks you rocking with? This money in the mattress is just sitting there, it would behoove me to let it grow.

Barclays is actually a British bank that's been around for over 300 years.

ING and Ally are usually at the top of the list when considering online savings accounts. Since both are under 1%, it really doesn't make much of a difference where you put it since you're not going to make much anyways.

I use HSBC..it had the best rates a few years ago...now everything is low as %%%% anyway

I use ING Direct. Seems to be ok but rates do suck as others have said.
