I've had my Jansport for about 5-6 years. Only thing it doesn't hold us my laptop which I rarely carry so it's not a big deal.

lol...If you think about it if you buy a quality backpack it will last you a long time so it's a pretty good investment.

I'd recommend it. Lifetime warranty and lots of storage. If I don't need to carry much, I use a messenger bag.

Nike Connection Backpack. Got it on sale for like 50 bucks and it looks brand new. Honestly the greatest bag I've ever used. Its got great shoulder/backcushioning, its really tall, and it holds a ton but never looks big. Also has a ton of compartments and the material its made out of just doesn't getdirty, ever.

If I ever hear of these hitting outlets I'd definitely get more.
