Vanderbilt -3.5

What's your confidence level on this one?

I saw it at Vandy -3.5 a couple of days ago and immediately liked SC to cover. But after checking opening lines, I found out that SC had actually opened as 4 point favorites, which made me like them even more since I can't see the books taking that big of a beating on the first night. And now it looks as though it'll close at around 5.5.

Just trying to see if you're seeing something I'm not. This was the only game I was interested in for Thursday night, but I may end up sitting it out.

It was at 3 for the longest time and I'm bummed I didn't get in early enough.

Regardless...SC seems like they're in a bad place as a program -- bad as in needing to go through an overhaul. Their team just isn't that good and they don't look good at the Q spot. They might start a freshmen and Vanderbilt's defense is tough! A very strong unit. Vandy's offense ain't all that great either, but I think of the four units, Vandy's defense is far and away the best unit on the field. I think they'll find ways to create a small field for the offense and may even score some themselves. It's big year for coach Mason and they need to come out of the gates running. Homegame for them and they're hoping for a large turnout (whiteout).

Good stuff, man.

I guess I'm just not as high on Vandy as a lot of people are. Their defense is solid, but their offense was (is) borderline anemic. If SC can score first, I like their chances.

Good luck though. I'm still unsure as to whether or not I'll be making the play, but if I do I'll be hoping for a 4 point Vandy win.

I liked the line much better at 3 and probably shouldn't have played, but I started capping this season pretty early, so I wanted to stand by my research/analysis.

Wavering on my USC pick. It was my only impulse wager of this group and I'm regretting it. Might buy back. I'm leaning towards a few other plays, but nothing locked in yet.
