Nt school me right quick, again. Vol. G1

Today i got a G1 that my boy sold me. I had a sidekick lx 09 with no network, never was able to connect to the internet. But i put my sim card into the G1 and the 3G is up and i am able to get and use the internet. Whats going on here, does the G1 have a free network * i doubt it* or should i expect a huge bill next month.

yo do me a favor and go to the home screen....press menu, then settings, then scroll down to About phone....Click about phone and scroll down to see the Firmware version & Kernel version. If your boy activated the phone with his gmail account, you are still going to get charged unless he unlocked and rooted the phone. The G1 comes with a data plan, which I dropped and unlocked. Call T mobile and tell them that you received the phone as a gift or found it or something, and that you don't need the data plan. If you continue to use the internet, they gonna charge the crap out of you.My unlocked G1 don't say 3g anywhere on the screen. pm me if u need help

You're gonna get billed....but if you want you can turn the 3G off and use Wi-Fi

what do you mean by *unlocked* you can pm me if you dont want to be put on blast.
