anyone know what protection means when my suround sound system goes on it says protection and shuts off. anyone ever have these problems?

anyone know what protection means when my suround sound system goes on it says protection and shuts off. anyone ever have these problems?

Pretty sure it means you have a short somewhere. Could be a fuse, loose wire, bad connection, etc. Check all the wires and make sure they are good and check the amp. This happened in my car stereo (different stuff but same concept) and my amp was bad.
