This along with pre-marital sex seem to be the most, "Ah whatever" rules to Christianity that people just throw out the window and not even humor following it. Do any of you not listen to the music of Satan/The World or is it not that serious?

Anton, stay out.

1st of all, I think these religion threads need to stop, it is obvious what ur intention is.

2nd of all, you need to answer this concern of mine.

DCAllAmerican, would you or any other athiest truly pick on religion followers that much less if they followed their religion to a teeth?

Be honest, because much of what you dudes, maybe more so Anton and That dude with the LA LAKers signature and the old guy in his avy, reference is Original TEXTS in religion threads. So if they hypothetically followed those texts, and were not hypocritical (which I am going to agree with you and say that they are), you would call them backwards and simple-minded.

Where is the root of your issue with religion?
It can't truly be the hypocracy of Christians, it must be some other inconsistency.... so why not address that issue instead? (I think your problem is with the religious text itself, which serves as a basis of their religion... I agree)

I, for one, would like to know how Christians can follow a book that was WRITTEN by various men and consists of stories that they had to recollect and therefore may have unintentionally fabricated...
not even 1 man wrote the book, so it already has inconsistencies.
Not to mention, your "BIBLE" is not a direct text from God himself, but it is from random "saints".

you agnosts need to check out Nietzsche, the dude murked the hell out of the christian religion.

And I am not athiest or agnostic BTW, I am Muslim...

Is there a rule in Christianity forbidding anything but gospel music? Anyways, my parents don't listen to music at all, so yes all gospel. My parents run the church so they are always immersed in it. My mom is still very rational about real life, my dad less so. It's hard to have a conversation with him sometimes. You want a real life answer about something like, "how's the weather" and you get a bunch of, "God is good, God made the clouds, the rain, the oceans..." garble.

My pops is like this too and I can't stand it...to answer OP, my dad's secretary goes to our church and I always catch her humming lyrics to pop songs and she claims she's a christian girl but her ears don't discriminate.

Supposedly Satan controls the music of the world. Hell many artists are said to be Satanists.  Many claim they don't even write their own music. They perform rituals to get fed the into and they just write it down. Gaga has admitted to it. Wayne has said he doesn't need to write anything down, he just recites what is said to him. I Found this info on Carlos Santana:
Carlos Santana admits to being controlled by demons, and having NO concern for morality or God:

"The energy of devils and angels is the same energy; it's how you use it. It's fuel. There is a saying: If you scare all your devils away, the angels will go away with them. You know, the halo and the horns are the same thing. I mean it's OK to be spiritually horny - that's what creative genius is all about. Geniuses don't have time to think about how it's going to be received... they don't have time to think whether people like it or not, is it morally right, will God like it?" (Carlos Santana, Rolling Stone, magazine, March 16, 2000, p. 87).

"...you meditate and you got the candles, you got the incense and you've been chanting, and all of a sudden you hear this voice: 'Write this down' " (Carlos Santana, Rolling Stone magazine, March 16, 2000, p. 41).

See this is what confuses me. How can it affect someone that doesn't even believe in it. I believe the spiritual world exists whether or not someone choses to believe in God/Enemy, but how can these songs affect non-believers? Hell how can they affect believers if they understand the music and reality are two different realms?

The whole idea of subliminal messages through songs/media has always confused me as I don't understand how it works if we don't notice it.

If you don’t see a car coming or believe it will hit you does that stop it?
Truth does not require belief, it is real / true weather you believe it or not

I see. So you believe the presence of demonic forces exist whether or not someone chooses to acknowledge that realm's existence?

Side note: I always thought practices such as VooDoo only affects you if you believe in it. I have heard stories of women putting their period blood in soups/stews and feeding it to their men to ensure that the man never leaves her. Something like that, I thought, was an example of something that you must believe in it for it to affect you. Am I wrong about that?

Eh i dont really want to break this down now… maybe if i have time later...

This video is about how some artists channel help from outside forces to basically perform at a level above and beyond what they can do alone. Interesting what BOB says. He isn't the first person that I have heard say that they feel something inside of them taking over right before they perform. Beyonce has said it before as well with her Sasha-Fierce character. She says she often struggles with keeping Sasha (who she refers to in the 3rd person) only on the stage and not into the streets.

Also pay attention to the mid-way portion where they speak on Jim Hendrix and how Flo-Rida channels him for help.

This superstitious supernatural crap gives me a great laugh when ppl take it seriously.

Shame none of the bull have crossed paths with me.

As far as the thread I'm not sure why secular music can't be listened to by any person of any religion. Not sure how music about Satan would be considered secular music anyway.
