It is very much possible, but will take time.. time that could be spent becoming that much better of a writer/storyteller, which is what you currently do.
Given the ability of the artist, you may find that having someone else draw your work may result in a final product that exceeds your initial expectations in ways you could never imagine. There's no way that someone who just started drawing can add the depth, beauty and detail of an artist who considers drawing their true art and has the experience to prove it. Just be really picky in who you choose to work with; the right fit will be the person that makes you realize that you could never have drawn your own story as well as him/her.
Collaboration is a beautiful thing, and an art in its own right. Not to say that you can't draw it yourself; it is very possible and may be the only way to execute your own ideas exactly as your imagination portrays them. However, the execution of your ideas will be limited to your own ability to draw them, which can result in a long period of underwhelming projects. I can almost guarantee that if you decide to draw out your own work for this first project, you will look back on it in the future and realize you could have made it a lot better. If you're willing to live with that, then follow your heart; but at least give the idea of collaboration a shot first and see what other artists can bring to the table, if they're good enough your decision will be made for you.
