NOLA Sneakerheads Pickups & Info ALA,MS,TEX Welcome

It seems like with NBA ALL STAR being the first big event under the new commissioner Adam Silver that they would be doing something different or special in New Orleans to represent and celebrate the changing of the guard.

First up is the Nike Sportswear releases, if the Air Ups were built better I might be interested in them, but they're that terrible Air Up 14 version with the seamless panels.

Here's info about what they're supposed to represent, but as I said earlier, I'm really not feeling this collection.

WOW!!! I guess this is all we get. We made somebody mad somewhere. Damn Hoston had special release Reeboks that looked better than this collection.

I didn't post the Adidas ones, and I'm not sure what Reebok is putting out.

whats up NT. I lived in new orleans from 97-03, but headed back down for a couple weeks. wifey is in a wedding and im gonna try to catch some of the allstar weekend and get my kids to some parades. im looking for a place to hoop during the daytime tho. im staying in metaire, but i know my way around. when i was there we mostly played outside or at tulane on the weekend. anyone know of any gyms i can hit to get it in while im there. House of Blues still roll thurs nights?

I am hearing rumors that Nike has some suprises that will hit New Orleans for All Star weekend. One of those could be the Yeezy 2 Red Octobers. Like I said these are just rumors from what I read on twitter.

What footlocker in New Orleans is turning into a HOH , i thought it was supposed to be the one on Canal.

From what I've heard they're using an empty space on Canal as a temporary HoH, Sports Plus is being taken over by Nike so all other brands stuff is going into that little annex on the building they used when they did a remodel. Adidas is going to have some sort of outdoor event all weekend at the Piazza d'Italia on Poydras over by the Casino, they also already added that store within a store at the Footaction in Esplanade.

I didn't get confirmation, but I heard that Nike wanted to do something special with Politics too, they're supposed to be getting their Jordan account in line this month and doing some sort of crazy releases for it.

So all the restocks are supposed to be in the temporary location?

That I haven't been able to find out, but it'd make sense, they'll be bringing in a crew of outsiders to try and cut back on the normal shenanigans that happen with these restocks. I've heard that just about every store in the area is getting all kinds of stuff so you'll have to pick and choose what you really want to get. I'm going to try and do more legwork early this week and find out who's getting what if I can.

Alright just took a walk down Canal, Sports Plus is in the middle of getting the store ready for a Nike Experience, they didn't say they were getting any restocks though.

The Big Footlocker on the Quarter side of Canal is opening up on Thursday as a Jordan Experience store, they've got guys working on it. The Lady's Footlocker/Kids' Footlocker on the odd number side is going to be the HoH, they were getting a big delivery from UPS with all kinds of stuff being unloaded. Sign in the window states they're opening on Thursday, so it might be worth a trip over to check it out.

UPS man unloading at what's supposed to be the HoH on Canal
View media item 7940672 Pictures from different angles of the Footlocker stuff, I couldn't get a decent shot but when they opened the side door for delivery you could see a TON of Jordan boxes, whole lot of the 5/6 boxes so it looks like they're going to have a lot of merch

I work downtown so it's not too much of a stretch. I think I may have been wrong about Adidas' thing, I saw a big ad on the wall across from my building that's got 321 Chartres as the address for their thing Piazza d'Italia is still a parking lot with no staging going on.

It's a shame that nothing I'm interested in is being restocked.

Does anyone have information on Sneaker Con and is it worth going to?

There nothing I want form the restock and I will try my luck online for the infared if I dont stop by the HOH

It's out in Elmwood at the Big Sports Complex which is kind of a PITA to get to if you don't know your way around elmwood. I may go check it out, but I've never gone to any sneaker con type thing and am worried it's just going to be a sneaker version of comic cons with nothing really worth getting unless you're ready to break the bank.

Yea I'm not trying to break the bank when I have other options. Feel like it going to be a huge FlightClub in there with Hypebeast everywhere wearing their "heat". Ill talk with my boys to see if they want to go.

if I go I'm planning on wearing the worst thing I can find, maybe even pick up some Monarchs. No way would I ever show up with a cart full of boxes just to show off though.

I was thinking about going down to NOLA this weekend. Do yall think the all star kicks (Lebrons, Kobes, KDs) and the Jordans (Infared, toro) will be easier to get out there? I'm from Houston and last year it was super easy pickings for the all star kicks. Especially at City Gear around Houston. The olives and other stuff restocked too. I think breds. People beasted over the breds, but everything else was pretty attainable. I'm trying to decide if I should try Houston or jump out to NOLA for the weekend.

Also, they had a huge section of the Galleria built for the custom nike elite socks and custom gear as well as the XX8s that dropped. Houston was crazy, I'm just wondering/hooping if the stuff will be in the same abundance in NOLA

Should be. From @mints  pictures earlier it looked like the UPS man was unloading a ton of shoes. I'm hoping to double up on NDC for the infrareds and maybe scoop one more at the HoH.

It seems like it. That UPS truck was unloading for at least an hour at what's going to be the HoH on Canal Street, and the malls are also getting restocks.

my bad, just read a page back and saw what people have discussed already. I still wonder how plentiful it'll be overall in general, because Houston was pretty open for real. it's a big city and they had places everywhere getting stuff. I remembered getting the area 72 air force max on wednesday. at a random mall up north. like they were just casually on display

the only thing that was crazy beasted was the bred restock and also the nike air 3s..but even the OG 3s could have been had if that was your mission. it was just too much other stuff wide open for me to worry too much about those. (air force max, chuckposites, olive IXs, all the main all star kicks)

If I get a chance I'm going to run out to Lakeside/Esplanade and Politics to see what's up too, but my work day rarely takes me out that way so I may not get a chance.
