Nipsey Hussle Thread; The Marathon Continues

Still listening to this. I like it a lot better than Games mixtape.

I listened to Crenshaw and its decent and he improved since his last mixtape but Im sorry I find no replay value to any of his songs. Nor memorable hooks
Dude is like the most generic rapper alive. Nothin special bout him. I apologize if I insulted anyone. Just postin my honest opinion.

This describes Dom Kennedy to me

This describes Big Sean, Meek Mill and to a lesser extent Ace Hood to me.

I've got to agree. I just don't see it with Nipsey.

If you looking for memorable hooks and catchy songs then Nipsey isnt for you.

Listen to Nip for the message in his songs, motivation, real rap, etc and your opinion of him will change.

Every bit of this

Exactly. Like you actually have to listen to the words he's saying. It's a very straight forward message and a lot of truths in his raps.

On "Change Nothing" he starts off saying "Don't never talk about the **** I'm bout to do/Don't never lie to **** I just tell the truth. Don't never put the ***** on a pedestal"

Like how can you not feel that. It's not extra lyrical but it's REAL. Everybody running around talking about AP's and cars that they're leasing and Nip is talking about some real ****.

Nip talks about valuing honest friends. How can you not feel that? "Show me symbols of betrayal can't be back friends" It's not really party rap, but it's real.

All of these. Those reasons up there is why "South Central a State of Mind" has not released and will never release. Should be on his second major label/indie album by now. Smh

^^^^

People that's not even fans of homie music want a album and all this major label attention :lol

Meanwhile his fans chilling, vibing to the music, soaking up game, and using the messages in his music in everyday life.

Catchy hooks are cool... Until the next rapper with the next catchy hook come along.

Man that complex interview is real as ****. Dude said a lot of **** _'s are either scared to say or they too stupid to realize.

That complex interview, realest S ive read in a long time. I will forver support nipsey.

Damn Nipsey kept it 120 in that Complex interview.  Publishing is where the real money is in music. Michael Jackson for example had control of half of Sony's music masters and some people will tell you that's why he was killed.

Nip spittin' that realistic...even more proud to be a fan off that.

Game and Nip just released a mixtape together called "Red and Blue Make Green." Came outta left field, but new Nip is always :smokin Bout to give it a spin.

....and wonder if Breakfast Club interview would have been as good as this...

That interview was all Nipsey being a good interview.

That was interesting about the Cube, but I think a lot of that was age more than production. I wonder if he's listened to Death Certificate.

Nip def gave a good interview, but I doubt Breakfast Club would have got to the Ice Cube discussion. On another note, I would have smacked that **** boy when he was like, "No shots, but have you ever really asked your Mom if she knows Snoop?" - Dude is lucky he didn't get a backhand to the face.

I thought that too, pretty disrespectful but Nip handled it professionally.

Number one, who is an editor to have an opinion on a street *****? Bottom line. Those editors don’t live this life. They don’t go through the struggle. I’m from the Rolling 60's my *****. They don’t understand what putting an album out is to me. It ain’t the same as one of them backpack ******, or one of them college-rapping types. That ain’t the **** I do. I got enemies. I went to war for real in between albums. My life is real. So when I hear about an editor asking: What’s up with my output? I’m like: What’s up with you even commenting on my life? ****** don’t know my life. That’s the bourgeoisie approach that I get offended by because this ain’t no bubble. This ain’t no vacuum we doing this music out of. That’s why people connect to the pain in it. Because it’s real. That’s the part they should respect. These radio hits, these charts, they don’t validate the truth and the message. That’s when I start to be like, “Okay, you ain’t got a record on radio. You ain’t put an album out officially, so you’re an underachiever.”
talk that **** my *****!!!

i wish NY rappers would grow a spine like that.

I'm just leave this right in here....

for da record da first Ice Cube album is basically a west coast rapper on east coast beats..that's whats slipping their tongue...
